for one season - they would have that in the following year any how. That draft pick could be a useful top college prospect under a rookie cap for 5 yrs.

Start complaining when the Raptors sign some crap free agent or worse dont sign anyone at all

This deal looks good to me, for now

maybe you should look at this year's list of offseason free agent before accusing other posters of "complaining".

I would say 80% of this deal is motivated by the money-saving.

Rose contract is 16mil
Davis is contract is 14 mil

Raps salary is 58 mil with rose and with davis it's 56 mil after this season it's 42 mil it's only 9 mil in cap space

Yes, they sold the pick. Absolutely.

But they got a hell of a price for it. What team was it that sold their lotto pick to CHI or DAL a couple of year ago. I think all they got was 3mill or so. We got 16 mill.

That's a good BUSINESS transaction. Maybe not a great basketball transaction.

Nobody else wanted Jalen. Even the Knicks didn't really want Jalen, they wanted the pick. Knicks have to pay 32 mill just for next season for Jalen because of the tax. Ridiculous.

Do we know that this is the Denver pick? Could it not be a heavily-protected first rounder or a distant future first rounder?

We're going to spend that money anyways. For that pick we will get a good free agent or make a nice trade, hopefully.

Besides, the draft is thin this year.
