What's your rating on the Rose trade?
Do you think we could have got more? Should we have waited? What's your personal rating on the Rose trade?
Just trying to get a consensus as to what the Raptors board thinks because it's not always easy reading through posts to find out

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
I'd give it a 8, Denvers pick won't be that good if things remain the way that they are, if AD decides to play then he will help our interior D and if he doesnt he still comes off the books at the end of they year

At this point it looks impatient but it shows that Embry is trying to make things happen rather than waiting for them to.

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
I'd give it a 5, average at best. Don't hate it but not excited about it. We still end up trading away the better player in that deal along with a pick that could prove to be worthwhile down the road. However, we do get an expiring contract and a much better trade bait than Jalen Rose ever was, as well as a good mentor to have with Hoffa and Charlie.

If we flip AD the rate will be significantly higher. I have to wait until the deadline passes.

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
Regardless .... both Rose and Davis will be gone next year leaving more money for Bosh and hopefully James ..... as for the lost draft pick the Raptors have enough rookies to digest into the team .... Raptors need proven FAs who can back up Bosh .... no FAs goodbye Bosh ... that's how I figure it ... 8 .....

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
****, I was hoping to get Reddick with the Nugget Pick. Does that mean NY has 2 draft picks this summer???
Crap, Crap, Crap, I really feel that the trade is lopsided. Jalen is the better player. If anything it shoulda been either straight up or at least another player in return for that pick!!!!!!
am I overeacting????

I love this one. Bloated contract for expiring contract. And this gives more PT to Graham.

I gave it a six, but probably should have gave it a seven.
Nothing to get too excited about, but it's something.

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
I look at it this way. Prior to the trade the Raptors were headed for another 30 win season next year. They had no cap room, and no significant tradeable assets other than Bosh, and there are no impact players in the '06 draft. Now however there is hope. There's still not much help in the draft, but now the Raptors have cap room, and the cap room also serves as a tradeable asset. There may not be much in terms of FAs available, but there might be trades to be had.
The outlook is still grim, but at least now there is a glimmer of hope for next season, so I say it was a good trade. Really though it all depends on how they use that cap. If they blow it all on re-signing Mike James, ugh.

Re: What's your rating on the Rose trade?
wow, look at the results!
I voted 7. I think its a smart move. I know picks are fun, but c'mon, Raps have enough talented youngsters to build around already... this opens up the cap room to re-sign James or bring in another veteran through FA. Not a great trade on paper, but a good move for the team.
