Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
Adelman was just fired by the Kings. Offensive minded coach, experienced, career winning percentage of over .600.
I'm not saying Mitchell should be fired, but Babcock got the axe so we could upgrade, so who knows?

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
I don't know a whole lot about his approach and dealing with younger players. But I've always thought that it would be better to pair an experienced, winning coach with a developed system with young players rather than an inexperienced coach with inexperienced players.
Adelman did bring a lot of success to Sactown in the late 90s and they had a couple of great runs only to beaten by LA and the refs. I think before that he was pretty successful in Portland, but my memory is failing me this early in the morning,

I hope so. Adelman is a good coach, who designs systems for his players to succeed in. I think he'd work well with Bosh and CV.

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
y not add him as an assistant coach? or hire him as coach and demote sam? i'm sure this will do wonders for our franchise.

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
ego would be the main issue, i dont think any head coach would be ok with being demoted from a team hes coaching in favor of another one.. i cant think of any examples of that happening. especially when there are head coaching jobs available for sam to pick up . bernie bickerstaff has more than once expressed his desire/support for sam mitchell taking the bobcat head coaching position.

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
Adelman is overrated. His game-management skills are, shall we say, not the sharpest. There is a reason Sacramento never won the big one...

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
Adelman would be a good choice for head coach if BC decides to not go with Sam over the course of next season....
With Adelman's offense, the bigs dont need to play down low in the post with his Princeton-esque type of offense and offensively Bosh would be a terror playing that high-post 5 in the offense - his passing skill is decent, he has the ability to drive, and we all know that he can knock that open jumper from 20....Mike James' game is very similar to Bibby's as a shoot-first point...
But then again, the issue with this team has always been defense, not the offense :P

I don't think BC is in the business of making promises. A lot can change from one day to the next.
I do think Sam will be back next year, but I don't think our franchise has the luxery of letting opportunities pass us by very often.

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
I always pictured Hoffa would've excelled in Adelman's offense since Adelman loves passing big man. Put Villanueva in the mix as well (as another passing big man per se) and imagine the slash/cut possibilities.

Re: Rick Adelman an option for Raptors?
I think he would be excatly what we need.. and when I saw they had a press conference I knew he was gone. I think the Raptors need to drop Sam and get Rick IF they want to really be in the playoffs next year in my opinion but who knows.
