Good report so far . . . Sounds like AB all the way, and that this interest from other teams would be a big problem to try and trade down. . . Unless we talk him up to trade down for someone else.

- won both draws, has happened before with Houston in 2002;
- money difference between 1st and 5th pick, has an affect;
- with respect to 1 vs. 5, we have the power, we make the decision, we can take anyone;
- can get burned drafting on "upside";
- draft lacks a consensus "program changer" with the top pick (James, Duncan, etc.);
- need to take the player that is right for our franchise;
- we will exhaust every effort to make the right decision;
- we could move down and do something else, we need to explore that;
- need to explore all options;
- Sam & Wayne are off to Italy ASAP to watch AB in the playoffs;
- important that they see him play live;
- Larry Tanenbaum was in Italy last week with Bryan, both saw Mr. Benetton, Maz, saw AB;
- work out schedule needs to be finalized;
- lots of dates need to be arranged, agents were waiting for lottery results;
- we had cancellations based on our drafting position;
- we will be sure to look at the players we need to;
- pick will draw interest soon;
- hopes there will be no issues with coming to Canada;
- Canada isn't an outpost, the agents understand what we have in terms of market, how much our players enjoy the city;
- players have a high opinion of the city when they visit during the season;
- the perception about taxes, market, seems to be diminishing quite a lot;
- word on the street--franchise is headed in the right direction;
- will make it an appealing place to be, winning culture, winning ideals;
- lots of things going on behind the scenes;
- Toronto is fourth-largest media market in North America;
- Chris Bosh got his All-Star spot, Vince did too;
- Bosh has come out and said he's inclined to stay in Toronto, we're working to make it happen around July 1st (signing date);
- Bosh made the USA invitees, getting his recognition;
- Chris is a great salesman for the team because of his opinion of Toronto and individual accolades;
- we have perhaps the most exciting young team in the NBA right now, need to get to the next level;
- cap flexibility will give us lots or room to work with;
- we can take on a large contract if needs be, maybe an All-Star calibre player;
- need to give something to get something unless you're working with damaged goods;
- lots of options, lots of things we can do, we'll turn over every rock;
- not sure how us winning affects our team image;
- reversal of fortune perhaps;
- the image of the franchise isn't as bad as some make it out to be;
- change in perception has happened (if it was a negative one to begin with);
- we're the talk of the NBA today, everyone is talking about it;
- great for the organization to control the draft;
- life got more complicated last night, bigger workload;
- Wayne and Sam wouldn't be going to Italy if we hadn't won the lottery;
- everything he does and will do is build on consensus;
- wants everyone involved, the key decision makers of our basketball braintrust;
- won't rush to judgement when it comes to rating a draft or trade right away;
- we may make a pick people are surprised by but there will be question marks anyways;
- player will get a chance to prove himself and be part of a successful formula;
- maybe we'll draft a ready player or draft on potential;
- won't be a huge immediate difference in impact between 1st and 5th or 6th pick;
- NBA readiness will differ from pick to pick;
- thinks the draft is very deep, we'll add a significant player, hopes it will be an All-Star;
- 35th pick will produce a decent player if we keep the pick;
- very young team core, we have some good vets that help out;
- uncertainty with Mike James, Mo Pete's contract is running out;
- maybe we'll take someone that will insure us at a position if we lose/trade someone;
- Mo Pete is a big part of our team, we're excited about him;
- Calderon is going to be a viable back up guard, will continue to adjust to NBA game;
- we need to get tougher, get more of an interior presence to help Chris and Charlie to do what they do, and get rebounding help;
- hopefully anybody we bring in will contribute, at what level is uncertain;
- Skita played for BT with coach D'Antoni, played total of about 60 minutes against viable competition;
- everybody that saw Skita was in a practice-type situation;
- AB has played over 1600 minutes in best competition outside of NBA;
- Macabbi shows how good the international teams can be, rematch possibly coming up;
- lots of NBA-level players overseas;
- players will continue to migrate to the NBA, 20% of league is foreign born now;
- we're looking at some Euro free agents;
- Ginobili played in Bologna after being picked, came over and did well;
- Nocioni, played for Tau, loved him, wanted him in Phoenix;
- hasn't been many first-rate Italian players, but Pau has opened doors for Spanish players, so we'll see;
- AB is a viable top-5 pick, where he goes is anybody's guess;
- Wayne will evaluate him well with Sam, they'll get a good impression of him;
- lots of candidates, everyone is an option for us;
- LA, Rudy Gay, Foye, Roy, Morrison, Thomas, Marcus Williams, Shelden Williams, JJ... everyone is there for us to take;
- not much of a difference between 1 and 5, we just get to take exactly who we want;
- trading down could happen based on contingency if someone you want gets taken in the meantime;

he flew out sam and embry to look at bargnani, but colangelo juss wants their opinion. he likes to do a consensus in the board room, which is good so that we function with more than one brain. good stuff bryan.
