yeah he didnt really seemed excited about either of them but i dont really read much into that

Thinking man's basketball goes beyond happiness at 3:40 PM .... and reality exists outside the sandbox where real men have to make big decisions based on facts not fantasy.
The topic being Pierce, would you hazard a guess if Paul would show up in a Raptor uniform to finish his illustrious career ... or would he prefer to join some other team ... ???

Re: Chris Bosh, Chad Ford, and Bryan Colangelo recaps
Most people, like BC, will be disappointed every season their favourite team doesn't make the postseason and have a right to do so.
However as Raptors fans I believe we are better conditioned to endure a long rebuilding process than most other fanbases. With or without the playoffs, hopefully the team improves and continues to develope.

Colangelo: No "program changer" player in this draft
From SLAM! Sports:
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Basketball...595882-cp.html
Quote:
Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo a man with many options
TORONTO (CP) - Toronto Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo is man with a host of options now that he owns the No. 1 pick in the June 28 NBA draft.
Sifting through the choices with the media Wednesday afternoon, a day after the Raptors won the draft lottery, Colangelo left the door open to all of the possibilities - from using the pick to trading it outright.
"In this particular draft, which is lacking a No. 1 pick that's what I call a program changer, someone like a LeBron James, Tim Duncan or a Shaquille O'Neal, you have to look it and say regardless of what number is attached to that pick we have to take the player that's right for this team and this program right now," said Colangelo.

Re: Colangelo: No "program changer" player in this draft
This team doesn't need a "program changer" though. We already have our core, whoever we draft, likely either Aldridge or Bargnani, will just add to that core and make us a much stronger team because of it. We're a team that just needs experience and a couple more valuable pieces to the puzzle - the #1 draft pick is a huge piece.

Re: Colangelo: No "program changer" player in this draft
Old news, you could have found an article from January that would tell you the same thing.
Like Bud Boy said, this team needs someone to fit with what they already have more than they need another program changer.

Re: Colangelo: No "program changer" player in this draft
well i guess we can goodbye to james...if there was any chance james was coming back, u know the company shill, aka swirsky, would never ask questions to bosh like "do we need a pass 1st pg" etc, etc...listening to the interview it really seemed like swirsky pointed the interview in such a way to list out all of james perceived weaknesses...
great season this yr mike, it was nice knowing ya...

It will be an interesting next season, particularily since the new playoff teams will be spending big $$$$$ to acquire the missing pieces they need to contend successfully. I even hear that Magliore may become available for the Raptors. Nothing stands still for the Raptors .... change or perish .... that's what's happening in the NBA.

lol, mb really makes me laugh...i love how he gets alot of the posters in here riled up...i have to admit, i find it entertaining...hahahaa...
i actually agree with mb thou...why do ppl think were going to be good next yr? will our def. improve that much by any of the draft picks or possible fa signing? there are no combination of fa or draft pick that will make a significant improvement on the raps biggest weakness, namely defending and rebounding...even the guy i like, aldridge isnt ready yet to be a major significant contributor in those areas (e.g not strong enough physically yet, i.e nba type bodies like shel. williams n glen davis getting the better of him in their matchups...) also, if mike james isnt resign, where/who is gonna pick up the production offensively from him?
best case scenario for us next yr will be a yr where we let the young guys grow and learn as a unit...let them go through their growing pains, it will only makes the raps stronger long term...playing young guys were probably gonna lose it lot, so we'll probably be drafting high up in the stacked 2007 draft, (where there is said to be numerous "program changers" mb) which really is best case scenario for the raps long term...
if everything goes according to plan, n bc pushes the right buttons, i really believe 2007-2008 is when the raps will really start to shine and really start to make a mark on this league...
