sure looks like the italian

i guess i would wonder why they are bringing some italian guy to be the assistant gm and why they would leak the "he only wants to play for toronto" rumors out there if it werent bargnani. question is did that only apply if it were #5 and now that it's #1 it changes the equation. to me you either go with team needs which would dictate aldridge or you go with biggest upside which would dictate bargnani. i say that because to me aldridge probably has a ceiling of marcus camby and bargnani of dirk nowitzki, enough said. trades are rare and there isnt a lebron at the top to even think of giving up the franchise for so what you have there is a pretty obvious pick if you ask me.

Re: sure looks like the italian

i think we are going to see it change 5 times before draft day. all it takes is for one good workout or measurement to bump someone.

especially since we are #1.

Sad but true. I'd much rather there was a no-brainer franchise player pick there at #1. I hope we can get a solid starter at least.

I've heard Aldrige being compared to Jermaine O'neal, and that's enough of an upside to take him

Re: sure looks like the italian

If it's Bargnani, how do the Raptors play both Bosh and Bargnani .... because they seem to be identical face-up PFs? Perhaps Colangelo could select Bargnani and then trade Bosh for several proven players.

Why pay Bosh $13+ million when you can get several Diaw/Barbosa players for the same money??

Just asking ......

Even if we get Bargnani, it would be mainly because he is the superior talent from this years crop. And you can always trade him as his value grows. Bargnani would have to share time at PF and SF or Center now and then (depending on team being played)

You are comparing Bosh to Diaw/Barbosa? WOW....please .... Bosh produces night in and night out...the guys you mentioned are inconsistent( i'm guessing you watched tonights game Mavs/Suns). Bosh is gonna average 20Pts 10 Rebs...there are only about 5 other players in the league who do that!! ...and you are going to trade that guy for Diaw?? Damn you need to watch more basketball.

Re: sure looks like the italian

^ although i agree with what u said clutchmoney, diaw is going to be an all-star perhaps even next year, as he is probably one of the most versatile players because he can play all 5 positions effectively. He can get u a triple double night in and night out if he is given the chance

Re: sure looks like the italian

There's alot pointing toward Bargnani right now, but we are still a month away, so the potential for things/preferences to change is still at large.

I hope we, at the very least, leave our options open long enough in that timeframe we still have. No need to settle so early BC (though, that being said, I bow to your better judgement).

"I don't really look at guys and memorize players, but (Bosh) is very impressive. He can shoot, he has an inside game, physical at times, he's pretty good...he's more than holding his own." - Shaq

"I really like him...to me he's already pretty special," Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki said after continually getting beat to the basket by Bosh. "He's going to be a great player in this league."

"Chris Bosh really has emerged to be a star in this league. There are more than the top three (in the 2003 draft)." - Dwyane Wade

I love everything about him, I love his game, I love his work ethic. He definitely has my approval - Kobe Bryant"
