Toronto keeping the #1 doesn't make sense to me
This team is young and needs a quality vet. They have Bosh and Villanueva... the #1 pick is going to be a PF.. they should trade the pick or move down

Re: Toronto keeping the #1 doesn't make sense to me
The team is young but lacks talent and depth (as well as the obvious PG/C). Matt Bonner is the first big man off the bench while Pape Sow is the starting center. Calderon is still adjusting to the NBA game and Araujo only hopes to turn into the next Zaza at best.

It's just popular notion that this draft class isn't as deep & as strong as recent yrs but you never know w/ the Raptors pick could be an All-Star in the future. It always makes sense to keep the top overall pick. I don't know what Colangelo will do but I say keep the pick until the right deal comes along. I agree w/ trick that the Raptors roster is lacking depth.

Either they take Aldridge or Bargnani to play as a slender center, and try to run up and down the court...or they trade down to try to end up with Morrison or Marcus Williams.

the nbadraft.net mock as it sits right now of aldridge, denham brown & darius washington looks like a "best case scenario" type thing
i don't care if we keep or trade the pick, as long as we get value.

Calderon > Marcus Williams, draft Aldridge
Calderon
Peterson
Villanueva
Bosh
Aldridge
lineup is nastily awesome.
maybe we sign speedy claxton

Why trade down to get a player when you can just take the player you want. Kinda like what the Texans did instead of trading down they just took Mario Williams.

This lineup would give up so many points it would not be funny. There is not a good defensive player in the bunch. I guess Mo Peete is ok defensively. Aldridge

You can never have too many bigs. CV was a horrible pick, so they can eventually trade him and make room for Aldridge.

Re: Toronto keeping the #1 doesn't make sense to me
CV is a 4/3, Bosh is a 4, and Aldridge can be 4/5. It'll work.

Re: Toronto keeping the #1 doesn't make sense to me
I certainly wouldn't trade away the #1 pick because I already had Charlie Villanueva on my team.

aldridge was defensive player of the year in the big 12. doesn't mean he's going to be a great nba defender, but he's a good defensive player. he, however, is not a center.
if the raptors take aldridge, their three best players will all be power forwards. it still might be the right pick though. rotating the three of them between the two big man spots would give them a very good frontcourt.

Re: Toronto keeping the #1 doesn't make sense to me
haha I'm sure nobody is breaking down their door to trade for the number 1. Why would you trade up in this draft? What kind of fool is trying to trade up in this crapfest of a draft? If you're not trying to trade out of this draft, something is wrong. This is a draft to roll the dice in the second round or back half of the first round on some guy you've never heard of. But the lottery is suck. Just a whole lotta suck. Unless Bargani is the truth.
