Aldridge vs STAT?

What would you say the differences are?

Stat is more of a banger, I know, but let's say as far as fulfilling roles on their team? Stat isn't a C either, but did it for the suns right?

I think I see Dridge playing that type of role for the raptors. We have a team that can run and gun, prolly not as well as the suns, but you know...

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

If Aldridge can, why not Bosh or Villaneuva, who are superior players? Solution is to take the best player in the draft.

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

No offense. But I don't see Aldridge as comparible to STAT. STAT was an ELITE talent before his surgeries and, hopefully, will be again after. Let's just keep getting some talent around Bosh. Bosh is already the franchise. We don't need anyone from the draft to be Stoudamire (I'd take it though). We could definitely use a Marion type player (trade down and get Rudy Gay) and anyone that comes close to resembling Nash (trade down and get Williams from UConn). Neither is all that comparible to Marion or Nash. Heck, how did the Suns get so many unique talents? I hope BC remembers.

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

TT is a more comparable player to STAT (which I presume is Stoudemire, can someone tell me why he's called STAT?) than Aldrige.

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

Aldridge is probably a better rebounder/defender.
Stat is much, much, much more aggressive and is a superior scorer.

Nope sorry, I spent the whole thread up to this point trying to figure out who the hell STAT is, then the Phx comment cemented the idea.

I think TT is more like a bigger Josh Smith than anything, he does have the A A A though ( Amare's Aggressive Attitude)

STAT is Amare's nickname, apparently it stands for: "Standing Tall and ..." Something, forgot.

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

I view STAT as I view Shaq. They're just unique physical specimens that will probably never be replicated.

From what I saw Aldridge wasn't nearly as explosive as STAT is/was.

Re: Aldridge vs STAT?

Standing tall and talented. supposedly his dad gave it to him before he died.

obviously stat is a whole lot better, but aldrige has the edge in terms of defense and shotblocking. he probably has the edge in rebounding too. but stat is a far superior scorer, and plays much more aggressively.

if aldrige gets his minutes he should get around that many rebounds. question is can a rookie come in right away and play good defense while staying out of foul trouble enough to stay on the court for long enough time. if aldrige plays around 30mpg then he should get around that many. other factors could be him needing some time to add bulk before he can start boxing out guys in the nba.

it's not like amare is a huge rebounder either.

STAT has balls. Big, aggressive Amareballs.

Aldridge is softcake.
