National Champs with Taliek Brown 2 years ago logging 6.7 apg. Taliek Brown?

How about Khalid El-Amin? Really quite similar to MW. How did that turn out?

MW has a nice outside shot, and he certainly is a fine field general. His size is also good. I'm sure pretty he will be a little better than Khalid, and he might be another Deron Williams. Who is not, as so many argued he would be, the next Jason Kidd.

I always worry about the quickness of a PG who fails to manage even 1 spg at the NCAA level. Especially when playing in a system with so many possessions per game.

He is really liable to be a reach pick, because of the lack of other PGs.

Both those Uconn PG's were undersized and weren't the athletes Williams is. I would prefer Roy,Gay, or Foye to Williams. It depends how far the raps are willing to trade down though, and what people offer in return. A player like Ridnour would be a gread addition, but I don't think he is on the block. IT IS A LITTLE EARLY TO SHUT DERON WILLIAMS. Point guards take a long time to develop, and I don't think he will be Jason Kidd, but judging by his rookie season he looks like he could a great pg. If marcus williams is anything close to deron williams then sign me up.

Re: Why I DON'T want Marcus Williams

Don't get me wrong on Deron. I'm suggesting that as Marcus' upside; and if he is as good, that wouldn't be a bad thing. But Khalid El Amin wasn't unathletic, but he certainly was short and didn't have an NBA body. But Marcus is no running jumping phenom, either. Add to that the fact that he stole about as many laptops as basketballs, and failed to qualify academically as a freshman, missing half the season. So there is risk that he simply won't be a very good NBA player.

OT - Khalid/Bulls trivia:
IMO, El Amin could have been a backup PG in the NBA if things had gone differently - different coach, different system. He was 6 ppg 3apg 1spg with a good a/t ratio, in under 20mpg as a 21 year old rookie. He was with the totally dysfunctional Tim Floyd Bulls, one of SIX rookies drafted that year, all of which played, along with sophs Elton Brand, Michel Ruffin and RON ARTEST, RON MERCER on his 4th team in 4 years.

Not a single player on the roster played for the Bulls for more than one previous season.

Its a wonder they won 17 games.

Re: Why I DON'T want Marcus Williams

Marcus will be a fine player in the league, I just wouldn't take him before #7 or #8.
