Re: Who do u think won the deal, Raps or Jazz?
I think that Hoffa and Humphries won in this deal. Both players were in bad situations, where they were really disliked by their coaches. Obviously I've been following the Hoffa situation a lot longer but from what I understand, Humphries and Sloan never liked each other much. Hoffa was in a much worse situation though, because the media (especially Doug Smith) hated him from day one, and most of the fans fed off of this. He became a pawn in the power struggle between Babcock and Mitchell, and was played begrudgingly by Mitchell who toyed with his minutes the whole time he was here. Hoffa was never in a position to succeed in Toronto, everyone was against him. Some guys have thick skin and can deal with that, others don't. And don't spout of some poo about he's a professional athlete and gets paid millions and blah, blah, blah
So both of these players get a fresh start. I think Hoffa could become a good bench guy under a coach like Sloan, and maybe Humphries will fit in better here.
So the players won in this deal.
