And Charles Barkley was 6-6 IN shoes. What's your point? I could go on with others like that but I won't.
You know all that squeaking on the court. Those are shoes coming into contact with hardwood floor.
Players play. Numbers belong in the classroom.

I was just saying that Sheldon is not 6'9, nor is he Charles Barkly........I think you can do worse then Sheldon Williams, he's a tough hard nosed player. Perhaps the most ready and fundamentaly sound player I've seen in years coming out. I want to see what his reach will come out to though with his 7'4 wingpsan. Hopefully it comes out ot an average 9' or 9'1. Because he's not the most mobile person in the world, a bit mechanical and I think he would surely help to have a solid reach so he would have an easier time recovering for rebounds when he's out of position. Also it is important to be able to contest shots with a good reach. That was one of the biggest weakness hoffa had coming in, a terrible reach and poor mobility which lead to his failure. I just do not want to make the same mistake twice. I'm not comparing to two as Hoffa is as raw as turnup with dirt on it but sometimes a players physcial capacities dose limit their sucess. I do like that his weight is up though, he has the bulk to play in the middle now.
I was not knocking Williams just stating he's coming in a little short. Like I said you can do much much worse then Sheldon Williams.

Or in other words, 6'9 in the nba.

In any case, I think when someone (like me) opposes the idea of trading our assets for present stars they're opposed to the idea of immediate success at the cost of future potential. Who's more likely to become more successful, a team revolving around Bosh/CV/1st overall pick, or team revolving around Bosh/Gasol?

You're missing the point of Speedy's post.

It's quite weird how they do that with their listings. Charlie is actualy 6'9 1/2 in shoes an inch and a halk off what he's listed as and Bosh 6'11 1/2, listes an inch and a half too short. Also even Kris Humpries is 6'10 not 6'9. Very few NBA listings are exact.

I honestly believe Bosh is 7'0" at least. The one game I went to this year (Raptors vs. Warriors) Bosh was the tallest player on the court all the time, including warmups. He seemed taller than Loren Woods. Bosh wants to be listed at 6'10" so he doesn't have to play C.

Re: Who Do We Want?
Honestly I want a new coach with a new philosophy.
Watching the Mavericks makes me dislike Mitchell and his "can't teach defense" excuse even more. Maybe he should take some lessons from Avery.

Does this include socks? Or shoes, without socks? I just don't know.

well, bosh was measured in chicago and i don't think he came to more than 6'11 with shoes on.
sheldon williams' standing reach is going to be over 9'
loren woods slouches
kris humphries' vert measured 36", the same as luke jacksons. iguodala's measured 34.5". strange but true.
i think we want a star from the draft and role players through free agency, trade, or even the second round.
i don't think we want to trade away our core (bosh, charlie, high draft pick)
back to measurements, i'd be very interested to see bargnani's. is he 7' in socks (taller than dirk say)? how about standing reach? it doesn't seem like he has to jump that high to dunk off two feet. is his athleticism/length combo as freakish as darko's?

you are, Speedy was talking about offense...HOward can play waht ever he wants on offense, but on defense he will be playing center where ever he goes (unless he goes to a team with a true legitimate center ie houston or miami).
