J-o

Is the trade for o'neal dead, or is it alive and kickin? i read on hoopshype that a raptors official said they wouldn't part with the #1 pick for JO, but i'm not sure if thats true... anyone have an insight?

A Raptors official made it abundantly clear the team wouldn’t surrender its No. 1 overall pick for Indiana forward Jermaine O’Neal.

^ That's the latest.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see you'd already cited that.

Colangelo can't comment on players already under contract, so you might not hear anything specific about O'Neal, but odds are this trade is far from realistic.

Re: J-o

If we could get JO for the first pick straight up then I think we should go for it. Sure O'Neal may have been taking a beating thus far into his career, but I think that him and Bosh would be good together. Wait, I don't know what I'm trying to say or proove, it's just that rejecting getting Jermaine O'Neal for an asset that we couldn't have even pictured ourselves having at this point last year seems too good to pass up.

What are other Raptors fans thoughts on this?

a raptor official? who the heck is that? i'd rather hear it from wayne or colangelo to make certain they wouldn't do this deal. why would they anyways? we obviously don't need to get younger

Actually, it was me who was quoted as a 'Raptors official', I mean doesn't being part of an internet forum based on the Raptors make me a 'team official'? I mean, hell I do a lot of work for the Raptors on this board.

Oh, and I like the new spelling of 'Bosch', like the tires, COOL!

My post was a reply to Lope31 who asked what Raptors fans though of JO. I linked to a thread that had several pages of opinions on JO. I was not trying to criticize you for starting this thread.
