Just a guess.
Huh?

Emeka played for UCONN in the 2003-2004 season which is two years before 2005-2006 season ended.

Like you said he was still on the team two years ago and started on the team two seasons before the one that just recently ended.

I took 3 years to mean 3 seasons. Even if not, Emeka was still consistent enough in the 2nd half of the 2003-04 season to help lead UCONN to a championship. So that was in 2004. This year is 2006.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?

I agree...what I was thinking he was saying was.....2005/06 is one....2004/05 is two....and the three years is the 2003/04 season that Okafor played

in his mind Uconn has not had a consistant player in 3 years.

Okafor being the last.

Whatever the confusion.

I think we can all agree that Emeka and Gordon were the last consistent UCONN players.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?

Well . . .what is it about Uconn that makes for so many inconsistant players? Is it just too many really good players on the team?
IF Brown is slightly cold he doesn't get to play much as they've got Rashad Anderson to come in?

Gay doesn't have to be "the man" as there are so many other solid players on the team?

Maybe Calhouns rotations are too big, or maybe they have just had some fluke recruiting lately?

Charlie is somewhat inconsistant but he was a whole lot better on that for us than he was for Uconn.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?

i think denham will be a fine pro. in fact, i almost feel he would've been a fine pro had he been playing in the nba last season and not the big east. i'm not going to make the argument that he'll be a star, because he almost certainly won't, but he's basically assured himself of a draft selection in the second round- and i don't think many teams should necessarily be looking to draft a "star" in the second round. i think players like denham brown, at least in my world, are very valuable: they're proven role players already, and "you know what you're going to get", etc. yeah, gilbert arenas might come around every 20 years, but most second round contributors are of the matt bonner type, if you will. on that scale, i don't see why we'd be looking past players like denham (and several others this year). they will almost certainly bring second round value next week- sure, the reward isn't exactly magnificent, but the risk (imo) is still minimal.

if we want to draft a diamond in the rough, i'd prefer we do it with the 56. i'd rather have the 35 bring us someone of the denham brown variety. we need more depth, i think, and he's also a depth enabler (imo).

peace

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?

^^ solid point about him already being a role player . . . so many draftee's are forced to go from being the star of their college team to a role player in the NBA, and not being happy with minutes/ stats/role etc.
