Is Denham Brown this man?
Click Photo
Okay okay, I'll admit. I wanted him...a lot. When he was passed over by Toronto, and then Detroit, I was shocked. Turns out he was just one of the many Canadian players fabricated by the media. Will Denham Brown suffer the same fate? Or is Brown better than that. At one point English too was projected to go in the beginning of the second round.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Brown is a better player then English has ever been. Brown's proved his worth at the NCAA level. Carl English played for a weak Hawaii team and in an extremely weak conference I don't think he ever led his team to the NCAA tournament. Even on the international level Brown has shined, I don't think Carl has ever played for us even though Rautins has been calling him for some time now.

Brown has a proven track record in NCAA and Int'l ball. He's from a big-time school and has had lots of exposure.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Carl English got his hype strictly through being in one (or two) NCAA tournament(s) with Hawaii, not a powerhouse college team. Nobody had heard about him before. Brown, on the other hand, was the great Canadian hype from his high school days where he scored 111 points in a game. Plus he's been in a ton of big games including winning an NCAA championship, and he's been a key part of those teams too. Much different story.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Carl's the man. He is as pure of a shooter as they come and about as much of a good character that exists. I'm shocked that this man was never drafted or put on a NBA roster. However he's still reaching for the goal and I think someday work his way into the leauge the Charlie Bell way from over in Europe.
As good as Denham Brown has done for the national program if you have ever seen many games you would see that Carl contributes just as much if not better. The thing I see is, if your drafted in the secoudn round teams look for specialist. The look for a stopper, a rebounder or shooter. Something they could use in special circumstances. Denham dose not provide any special trait and I think will cause him to slip. At least Carl offered his shooting touch............

Yup, because they took Mendez last year, English the year before, traded up to take Magloire, etc. etc...

They are not even in the same level, Denham Brown led Team Canada back in Puerto Rico Olympic Qualifiers. Even scored 20+ against the americans and that American Team was much better than the 04 Olympic Team

none of those teams except dallas have a first round pick. but i agree with ur statement where elite teams are able to find proven players near the back end of the first round. The reason why they are so successful is because these guys are NBA ready, whereas teams picking in the lottery choose based moreso on potential than anything else. Elite teams pick players that will be ready to contribute right away, and that's why they're so successful. kinda ironic..isn't it?

He'll be drafted, not necessarily by TOR.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
I hope we don't draft him. Because he just isn't that good.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Denham Brown was supposedly really good at the Orlando Pre-camp draft. nbadraft.net has him as the first player in the second round. I don't think there is a doubt that this kid will be drafted, and it wouldn't be that bad of a pick if t.o. takes him at #35 (if hes available). I see him getting selected around 29-40 overall.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Carl English is soooo over rated. He is not that good of a ball player and he's not even the best here in Newfoundland. I played against him a month or so back in a tornament here and he couldnt even dominate that and beleive me he tried. Denham brown is far more superior then English. English made the mistake by leaving ncaa and having a crappy agent now he will never step foot in the nba. Also he told me hes going to the nuggets training camp this summer and i doubt he makes that roster.

Re: Is Denham Brown this man?
Just say no to Denham Brown.
There is really nothing to recommend him as a good NBA prospect. Nothiing.
