Re: Goodbye and farewell Matt Bonner
As a parting gift, he gets to play with Tim Duncan! Deservedly so, and all the best to Matt.

Toronto has a habit of getting behind these character/hustle guys. (see JYD)
I think one of Babcock's strongest moments was not buying into the hype and over paying for Bonner. I really appreciated what he could do, but what he could do was fairly limited.
He'll do well in a limited roll in SA.

Re: Goodbye and farewell Matt Bonner
I loved Matt Bonner his rookie year, but his second year I realized I just liked him because he was a random white guy with red hair and he actually sucked..
Won't miss you Matt!

Re: Goodbye and farewell Matt Bonner
I read on a rival board that during a morning interview with Sam that he "almost cried" when asked about Bonner and that they will sign Bonner after his current contract is over.

Re: Goodbye and farewell Matt Bonner
I would love to see Matt come back as a free agent....he can be as good as any 12th man in the league and is a quality guy....that is what you need on the end of the bench.
This is a player I would like to see move up in the organization...he can eventualy take over JYD's PR role.

"It hella sucks that Bonner is gone, but we aren't going to get anywhere without making sacrifices.
I know I'm not alone when I say that I loved having Bonner with the franchise and he will be missed.
