Delonte West?
What are your thoughts on this guy? He's young and I think he does a great job at the 1.
Would you guys want him? What can we give up? Can he solve our problems at the 1? What would Boston want for him?

Re: Delonte West?
Good kid, good personality, plays with energy.
I don't think I'd want to give up much for him, though.
I don't think he's better than Jose Calderon, and if he is it's not by much.

Re: Delonte West?
What I like about him is that he got good height for a PG, I think I herad he is actually a SG playing out of position, and from the games I saw, he's playing great.
If we had a backcourt of him and MJ I wouldn't mind so much, MJ could guard the PG and DW the SG and on Offense, MJ could play the SG.
NBA.com lists him as 6'4"

Re: Delonte West?
I think that Delonte is playing very close to as well as he will ever play....if he was coming in to be a third guard able to back up both positions then I would consider him for a roster spot. If he is going to be our starting point guard I am a big no!
Like Speedy said...he is not any better than Jose....

Re: Delonte West?
he's not a pure point guard.
He's actually pretty mike james like, except he's not selfish. But when you have Paul Pierce creating offence, you don't need to concentrate as much on setting up plays.
Also, i think he played mostly SG in college and highschool.
he's pretty athletic, he was averaging a block per game early in the year (after 2 months or so)
and he ended with .68 blocks, 1.18 steals.
Only 4.6 A/G, but more than 2/1 A/TO ratio (4.6 / 1.87)
Still, more suited as a third guard.

I'd give up Jose for him.

Re: Delonte West?
I would too. He's definitely better than Calderon. West is a good defender and good rebounder for his position. He brings excellent hustle and very good spot up shooting. I didn't like him his rookie year, because he did nothing with the ball except swing it around, but he dramatically improved last year. He's heady and takes care of the ball. He is not at all a natural point guard though. He does not create for his teammates very well, if at all. But he's a good, young player who does many things well.

lol. do you know how many people lebron has dunked on? by your formula, you would pass on NBA all-stars, simply because James, arguably the best player in the league, dunked on them.
