meh, marquis was invisible all season until game 6 of the finals.

he hasn't performed since signing his contract, i hope that we can get someone else for Mike James.

i guess if there was any truth to this rumour, Dallas would not be re-signing Jason Terry.

I really don't like this deal, I don't trust Mike James and we'd lose depth at the 2 guard. Mike James is older (just turned 31) and would probably garner a long retarded contract. Put up some great numbers; 20.8 PPG (47% FG, 44% 3PT FG, 87% FT), 5.8 APG, 3.3 RPG --> but this was his only decent year in his career.

I would hate this deal, as Mike James played his heart out only for a contract. It also depends on the package - if we could get the #1 pick then that could be interesting.. (although I doubt they'd give that up)

From Toronto's perspective, I guess this could be good - why not just trade down and grab Brandon Roy --> this trade seems almost redundant for both teams.

Holy ****, I'd love that deal. Any of the old schoolers here will tell you how big I was on Daniels before the 03 draft.

Daniels would be huge to get... i dont think we will get any value in a sign n trade... anymore than daniels at least... its a sign n trade cause james dont wanna be here.. so its hard to get value..

pistons got lucky with ben wallace.. doubt it happens again..

MD's contract from next season: $5,880,000 / $6,370,000 / $6,860,000 / $7,350,000 (team option)

he's an intersting player due to his versatility. he can handle alright, is a good slasher, and is athletic. he's not a great setup man and we wouldn't want him being the primary guy bringing up the ball, his shooting throws out the shooting guard branding, his D is not so intense. but he does have interesting tattoos

he's kind of gone underrated to overrated to underrated again. his contract isn't one of an underrated player. it does however dovetail with rasho's and charlie/joey's extensions.

mike's older,sure, but he seems to be the better player of the two: healthier, better shooter, larger contributor. i'd hope to get more--pavel?

meanwhile a terry/harris/james/stack guard rotation is great. mj would push the game, take weight off dirk and howard... if mike can keep his game at the level of last year, which i think he can, they're adding a BIG/important piece for a castoff/salary-dump

If were going to spend $7M anyways. why not keep the better player... Mike James. (EDIT - **)

EDIT - **I forgot the most important part. This assumes Mike James wants to stay here. If he doesn't then the deal might be OK.

It comes down to:

Is there a better 2/3 FA out there that we can get for $7M. I think so.

No deal, unless Dallas spices it up.
