NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
Watching ESPN this morning, Greg Anthony and Tim Legler said that the Raps can and will make the playoffs next season.

The playoffs should definately be a realistic goal - I think you guys have a great chance.

Re: NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
If we can get some stability at the point guard spot the playoffs should be our goal. It's not such an impossible task when you figure you need about 42 wins to be the 5th seed these days.

Re: NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
I think during the 06-07 season the Raptors have a definate chance of making the playoffs. Improved roster with more experience + weak eastern lower half = Playoff hopes. Especially if we didn't get off to that bad start, I think we would have been in a hunt for a playoff spot going into April.

Re: NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
We do have a chance at the playoffs, of course we do. Look at some of the teams that got into the playoffs this year, I mean, I think our team next year should be better than what the Bucks had this year. However, an injury to Bosh could stop us, or if they decide to underachieve. Luckily, Raptor players usually have the will to win, I mean at the end they could have given up wins and just gone for a better lottery, but they wanted that extra win. Its definitely feasable for us to make the Playoffs. What sucks is, if we become a playoff team, I'm going to have to fight for tickets for the first time since VC's peak Toronto days.
The only problem is, I don't think we'll be a solid playoff contender, at most, it'll either give our players a taste of getting so close to the playoffs (if they don't make it by a win or two) or a small bit of playoff experience. However, atleast once in the next 5 years, book your tickets for a conference finals appearance, and possibly finals because the top 3 teams (Miami, Detroit, NJ) are aging (Shaq Payton Mourning; everyone on pists except Prince, and Hamilton can hangout a little longer than the other three; Jason Kidd).

Re: NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
My honest thoughts are that Toronto is still one more year away to contending, but could squeek into the playoffs this next year. What the organization doesn't have yet is enough depth and solid role players. You guys are on your way though to great things in a few short years.

TO will make the playoffs unless they start 0-9, and finish 1-12 like they did last year.

Re: NBA MATCHUP -Raptors 6/25/06
Take anything GA and Legler say with a grain of salt, as most Net fans know, they're just bandwagoners and don't be surprised if during the season they talk bad about the Raps again.
