Re: On Raptors Rumors:
Rumours allow you to speculate all possibilities, whether or not they come true. On top of that, the majority of times, the rumours are not created by board members, but rather, found on known sources (i.e. hoopshype). Whether or not they're true, doesn't matter. Fans of the team want to look at all options, and call one group idiots for wanting to trade Charlie V. for Luke Ridnour, while the other group calls them idiots for not liking the trade. If this was a team not rebuilding, not having a a GM like BC to help rebuild, not needing to avoid luxury taxes, we'd average 1 thread a month. Although you have somewhat of a point, it would almost defeat the purpose of having these boards.
Thank you for caring, but no one cares.
P.S. Its the offseason if you didn't notice, speculation and WHAT IFS are a major part of it.

Funny you should say that, both the Hoffa deal AND the Rasho deal were leaked, so ... (I'm being serious too, BC has anything BUT a no leak policy, to a certain extent. He leaked that Bonner was going to get traded so it wouldn't hit too hard on the fans when it was announced. He leaked that we were intersted in Bargnani so IF it wasn't a smokescreen, there isn't a Charlie V drafting type reaction. He leaked that many teams were targetting that #1, most going for Morrison (the biggest "battle" for the pick is supposedly between Portland and Charlotte, both again supposedly looking at Morrison. This would mean they'd have to give up more). He is again "leaking" that we have huuge interest in Ray Allen...
Either there's someone who's going against him and leaking everything, OR BC knows how to use the media, and use it well!

Repped.
Honestly pmac, I don't get you. First you posted that 'rant on trade ideas' and now you don't want people to post rumours? Give me a break, this is an online discussion board concerning ball. There's not one on the internet without trade ideas and rumours.
Hoffa trade: Rumours had him going to Utah and voila!
Bonner trade: Rumours had him going to the Spurs (mind you, for Oberto) and look where he is.
No leak policy my ***.

It's not like the rumours came out weeks or even days before those trades. IMO it's not really a rumour when people find out about it a few hours before it actually happens, and it's hard to blame one front office when two are involved equally.
So far I think BC has done a great job of surprising us.

I hadnt heard of the Ray Allen thing at all.. Thats kinda sweet. Of course if MonsterBosh got ahold of this one he'd call me a rosy-minded Raptor's fan who didn't really see the real situation. But, I could see Brian Colangelo having a Executive of the Year type debut with the Raptors. There are tonnes of options and pieces in place that he could completely change the face of our team and give us a huge win jump. EEE. I can't wait for Wednesday. lol

Don't ever not think or do something because MB might say something.
So I log onto Prosportsdaily / Raptors rumors to check out what the latest word is, to see who's today's choice. Just from looking at their front page you can see the Raps taking everyone from Aldridge, Bargnani, AMMO, Thomas, trading it (CB you can find a link to the Ray Allen rumor in the link below).
A day away and things are as unclear as they where two weeks ago, it not, less clear.
I'm going to miss the draft so I might need you guys to coach me back to life on Tuesday night / Wednesday morning.
ProSportsDaily, a site I use often.

Re: On Raptors Rumors:
so many rumors today.
"Although the Raptors already made a trade for Rasho Nesterovic, they're in the middle of numerous discussions because they seem to want to trade down to take Andrea Bargnani, whom they could get much lower. Plus, it would put additional pressure on Bargnani to be No. 1 and not be ready for the NBA."
"Other trade rumors have the Sonics dealing Ray Allen to Toronto in exchange for the No. 1 overall pick and a handful of players. Sund did not return messages on Sunday, and the reports are unsubstantiated."
"The Raptors are said to be willing to deal Villanueva because they can draft Bargnani, but supposedly are insisting on point guard Ford."

Hoffa to Utah was going around for a month or so if you check out realgm.com's boards.
The Oberto thing was a day before, though.
