hard to say how far down the PG list they go before Denham is worth picking. I agree with Speedy on Barea, everyone seems to say he's got amazing court vision, and would go high if he was 3 inches taller.

the thing with denham brown also is where does he play and who does he take mins away from? den. brown is definetely a 2 in this league so that means he would have to take minutes away from graham, which i dont see happening...i think graham is a way better prospect then den. brown...

Gherardini was asked about him specifically on the radio. He said Sergio is on a very lucrative deal with Madrid and would need the cash to make him come over. So far, he is 15-30 range, unless he really moves up from there the slotted rookie deal might not be enough.

You'll find out when he is picked. If he goes in the 1st, there is enough dough. If he does slip, cash is the reason.

heard that myself. and when i did, i thought our interest in sergio was pretty transparent. can't put my finger on it, but the things that gherardini was saying- and the things he wasn't- were pretty revealing.

the fact that he mentioned a buyout that hadn't really been discussed beforehand (like tiago's, for example) really surprised me- it sounded less than sincere. iow, it sounded like maury wanted sergio to slip, and so he was grasping for something to make it happen.

i could be way off here but man, i have no reason to perceive that interview on any bias. i haven't seen much but clips of rodriguez and, to be honest, haven't read much about him either. but after hearing that interview with maury, i just wouldn't be shocked if sergio slipped into the second (at which point we'd call pdx for 31- or take our chances with 35) or we simply found a way to draft him in the first outright (at 16, for example- 1 for 2 & 16? unlikely but not impossible, imo).
