FYI Doug Smith also said that some within the org. think CV will top out at an Antoine Walker who does not mix it up underneath.

something w/ portland has always made sense (for both us and them) but i'll stop short of jinxing it.
i will say one thing, though: getting only bargnani with the 1 (regardless of whether we think he's bpa material) would probably disappoint me. in fact, i know it would. we should rip more value out of the 1 tonight.
can it be done?

i dont think it does, well at least the 4 and 7 for #1 deal...smith also said that chi. has covertly been high on ab as well and he doesnt think ab gets past 3 with the charlotte pick...
from portlands perspective, why do u do this trade (4 and 7 for 1) when theres a very good chance that your guy (presumably morrison) will be available at 4 with seemingly thomas going at 2 and gay going at 3??

Maybe they think the CHA deal is in play? I don't know.
Maybe the 1 is not what is being discussed. But having POR get that second pick is surely intriguing.

One issue with trading 1 for 4/7 is the possibility of another team moving into the top six and affecting the expected draft order.
Gotta consider how that might shake things up.
