Second round is a crapshoot, you take the best prospect available.

true, but i doubt ANY of these guys would've been had by another GM. y not evaluate them later on rather than have their rights for a couple years? i would've rather seen blalock or a pg given a chance.

i'm saying with the two second round picks, we could've had at least one guard picked. all i'm saying is that we could've TRIED to see if a guard could fit with our program rather than waste a pick like that.

There were some possiblities for backups or 3rd string guys at the 35th. Right now, I'd put Tucker behind Vllanueva, Graham and GarbageMan at the SF position. Looking at the guys taken after Tucker, I still don't like the pick. Sorry, this should go to the other thread.

But Blalock like this ugly mofo, are not likely to make it... we will address our depth needs through trade, cap room, exemptions..
Not too worried.... as I said, you can't build on second rounders.
Plus I always prefer a Euro in the second round because we can stash them, unlike an American player.

Re: Official: Toronto selects Edin Bavcic 56th overall
^ u can still send american players to the euro league to work on their game..or even the d league. the thing is, second round steals are hard to come by, but how many of those are from europe? the only one i can think of ginobili, and all the other ones were from america. so at least look for a steal in this draft, rather than look at a player who no one else had on their depth chart.

I know he's listed as a forward, but with his ball handling ability and speed, I could see him playing the 2, backup of course.

Bavcic dealt to the Sixers for cash. Nice knowing you, Edin.

Did you just say PJ Tucker, ballhandling and ability to play the 2 in the same sentence? They only way he should play the two is if both Graham and Ukic are injured and Colangelo doesn't manage to sign someone else.

Re: Official: Toronto selects Edin Bavcic 56th overall/trades him to Philly for cash
Actually, its the first part of a big trade involving Boston and Philly. We end up with Rajon Rondo and Delonte West.
