there is so much left to do... when you look at this team, you don't even know where to start. that's not to say we're in a bad position, of course, it's just... there's a lot of uncertainty at this point.
like you said, our backcourt can be defined today by jose calderon and morris peterson. aside from them, you just don't know. of course, it could also include joey graham and pj tucker depending on how you look at them, not to mention mike james, darrick martin and roko-leni ukic by the time it's all said and done. what's more, it's conceivable for all of them to make the team. every one of them. together. in that case, we wouldn't be nearly as dry back there.
so it's absolututely unique at this point. we feature a list of players with whom we have no fixed plans, and yet they're not all free agents either, which means they're certain to be at least
considered for roster spots. one of the dominos is sure to fall soon, though, and then we'll probably get a better read.
wouldn't mind players like gansey battling for jobs myself. don't know if he's on our radar, but i'm sure he'll get a job somewhere. the second round doesn't mean much these days- provided it ever did.
but i did want to mention one other thing: "The end of the Raptors bench is not pretty - Sow, Barrett, Woods, and Martin are borderline NBA players, and probably aren't going to make any big contributions." this is correct, but c'mon.

i challenge anyone to come up with a staggering 'end of the bench' lineup sitting anywhere in the league. ever. the end of the bench is not a critical piece of our (or anyone's) future, imo. doesn't really worry me right now. but i don't think you meant that either, so it's fine. just wanted to point out the obvious.
