Gerald Wallace and Leandro Barbosa - The Missing Pieces.
If Colangelo is truly trying to embark the Suns Philosophy into Toronto, Gerald would be the first guy I would be targetting. Before the draft, I would say Charlotte may be asking too high of an asking price, but with Morrison I think he can be had. Granted I don't know if Bickerstaff's plan is to start both Morrison and Wallace on the wings, but I can bet Wallace is alot more expandable than he was before now that Morrison is around. His athleticism is perfect for a running team all the while won't be taking away shots from the more important pieces, i.e. Bosh and Bargnani.
Gerald also provides to things the Raptors are still lacking, rebound and defense. The only player last year to average 2 bpg and 2 spg, and not too shabby with the rebounding contributions as a small forward, Gerald is growing himself to be one of the better two-way players the NBA has to offer. His potential on the defensive side would be enough to have any GM looking for defensive help salivate.
In addition to the team needs, there is the lone Colangelo need, a combo guard. Everytime Colangelo seems to mention how this team needs a combo guard, to not only help with the ballhandling duties but to also provide some scoring punch in case of a Mike James departure. This is where Barbosa comes into the play. His quickness allows this team to continue the running and attacking the basket in case Ford needs a breather, and his sudden resurgence on the offensive side will make opposing players command attention to him.
I have no idea how BC should acquire these guys, but there's no other two players I would not want more for this team when it comes to our flexibility, and without having to give up any of our core players (Ford/Bosh/AB).

love barbosa.
can you imagine tj and barbosa in the backcourt together? that'd be perhaps the fasted backcourt in the history of the game.
no idea what we could give to get him.

Ideally, Diaw will command alot of $$$$, forcing D'Antoni to give a lowball offer to Barbosa when extension negotiations roll around soon, in which case we'd use our cap space to make an appeasing deal.

Re: Gerald Wallace and Leandro Barbosa - The Missing Pieces.
I couldn't imagine Ford and Barbosa playing together... they'd have to show entire Raptor games in slow motion. I'm not sure if we can trade our 1st (being owed to Charlotte and all), but I think Calderon and a future first would be fair for both teams. Maybe we can eat up a bad contract, too.
Gerald Wallace would be very nice but completely out of the question.

Gerald will not be traded. Your logic doesn't really make sense. Morrison and Wallace are COMPLETELY different players.Morrison is a pure outside shooter with a lack of defense, Wallace is a slasher with an inconsitent outside shot. Basically whatever G.Wallace isn't,Morrison is, and vice versa. If anything Gerald is more valuable now seeing as how we are going to need his defense while Morrison is playing, basically on the helpside of the defense. Also Toronto doesn't have much to offer us if we were to trade him.

playing with the realgm tradechecker, jose and humphries works (after humph's hold time). don't think they'd take it but jmc would be a great pointguard under d'antonio.

Unless both Gerald can AMMO can co-exist together in the starting lineup, I'm willing to bet that neither would be happy coming off the bench, with Morrison being the 3rd pick and Wallace establishing himself as a real starter. If it does happen I could see Bickerstaff tradin Wallace while his value is still high.

But thats the thing who would we trade Gerald for? Not another shooter because then we have no defense at all. And theres no need to trade for a defensive SG, Wallace has already proven he can guard just about any wing player. As far as I can see, they will both start with Wallace guarding the opposing teams best wing player, I can see some trouble especially when we play New Jersey..eek

Charlotte nailed it on the head, obviously. Very simple concept. Morrison and Wallace are great together. I don't see why they won't be nor do I understand this come off the bench talk.

Word... Morrison and G-Force looks like a perfect duo, that covers each others weaknesses and brings the best out of each other.
