Re: Mike James is tired of being treated like a cheap prostitute

...And the contracts that he has been offered so far could not buy a home?

Mike James is a joke. The guy doesn't deserve a penny to play basketball for the stupid things he has said in the past three months. An owner would have to be stupid to give him anything. Mike can go out there and play for a bottle of Gatorade each night.

With some people's reactions to each of his interview, it seems like Mike James has a hobby of running over house dogs.

Re: Mike James is tired of being treated like a cheap prostitute

If Mike James hadn't played with the Raptors last season, but he played on another team and racked up the same stats going into FA status, would Colangelo seriously look at James considering that the Raptors are being rebuilt as a run and gun Suns-style team?

I don't think so, and those who value James may only be doing it because he was an entertaining Raptor last season.

Really, I thought he was being really mature with what he said about Bosh. Granted, that was last summer and it would be kind of stupid to hold a grudge, but it's still good that he recognizes Bosh as a smart and talented player and person.

MJ has said some questionable things, but he's a class act compared to other players we've had (VC, Skip, Zo).

Re: Mike James is tired of being treated like a cheap prostitute

if its all about respect, being a leader etc..... then he wont sign with dallas and instead he will take less money to be with the raps where he can still continue being a big part of the team. but lets not be naive its all about the money. both he and latrell need to feed there children after all.

Re: Mike James is tired of being treated like a cheap prostitute

mike james is a good player. hes a good person . he wants to be a leader. he wants to do the right things for the team he plays for . he wants to help them win . its like the little kid on the football team who plays his heart out but sometimes he winds up hurting your team more than helping them . or he winds up hurting himself , but you cant question his heart.

in this case we have mike james. he wants to win so much he will take all the shooting responsibilities in the clutch on himself . and maybe rightfully so , chris bosh has demonstrated that in the clutch he is not a go to guy, not yet. bosh just didnt show anything killer in the clutch except maybe a few games. other games he might dribble off his foot , or while penetrating , force a turnover. mike james isnt blind he saw that bosh had problems too .

so what does mike james do ? what does a 30 year old vet think, with his skills, when he sees a 21 year old guy struggle in the clutch? he thinks, im 30, im the leader of this team, i need to put them on my back and lead them to victory. we cant fault mike games for being such a hard nosed competitor who wants to win. and hey last year mike james was phenomenal shooting the rock and killing defenders off the drible. he cost us games, yeah, but i cant say that he is a selfish player at all . given the circumstances mike james was put in that position. and because he was put in that position he really didnt have much of a choice leading a bunch of 2-3 year players ( on the starting roster mo pete was the only guy with more than 3+ years experience ).

mike james shouldnt be blamed for what happened last year. we need to embrace mike james for what he is . hes a good hearted- want -to-do-the-right-thing player, but at the same times the best intentions in the world can bring hurt to the ones you care / love. in this case mike might have hurt his team , but in his eyes he was doing everything he could to help them. either way i think mike james is not a selfish player, hes been around , up an down , and knows where he comes from and just wants to be shown a little love for his efforts. its unfortunate that hes misunderstood so much .

people want to make big deals out of his comments and call him crazy , blah blah , but in reality have 10 cameras shoved in your face and try not being quoted saying something stupid with everyone listening to every word you say . mike james is gonna be mike james. overlook his small faults ( weird media comments and wanting love , to him trying to bear the whole offense on himself ) , and embrace his strengths. the man literally can bring an entire team down from 20 points back up all by himself. hes got that talent. that very few do. we have to direct it into a positive role. dont throw away away a mercedez because you dont like its color . heh somewhere along those lines. the team needs to guide mike games , and if we show him the love and the staff guides him in the right direction and utilizes his talents , mike james will succeed. mike james will leave his blood and guts on the floor every night. and he will be worth every penny we pay him. he just need the right guidance out there.

The Timberwolves are now reportedly interested in James.

So the shortlist seems to be the Mavericks, Rockets, Timberwolves, and Raptors.
