I don't mind that deal...I don't think that is giving up on Joey, but it give a better option at starting SF in Hedo. He would be a nice scorer to play the second/third option....up grade as a shooter as well. He is also not a complete pylon.

Right you are. I'd definately go for this deal. Turkoglu may not be the best defender around, but I think he is actually underrated at that end of the floor. He is not too far off from Joey Graham, who although was touted as being a very good defender coming out of college, has yet to live up to expectations in the NBA. Turkoglu can also flat out score. I always wondered how well he would do with a pure point guard by his side, not a ball hog like Steve Francis.

Not to mention we would finally rid ourselves of Alvin's contract.

I've already made a few posts at the other board about this, but the trade makes no sense for the Magic from a talent standpoint. It doesn't work under the CBA either. The Magic are also thin at the wings as it is, so I don't see the deal happening.

how does this deal not work under the CBA? turkoglu makes $5.8 mill with dooling making $3.3 mill, which equals $9.1 mill

Alvin makes $6.8 mill while joey makes $1.5 mill. which equals $8.3 mill.

Remember we have the cap space.

He had an ok rookie season and I expect him to improve significantly this season.. I just hope BC just keeps graham because I really like his potential.

If Ariza was included in this deal then its a whole another story........

So why deal away a much cheaper and equally adequate player in Graham? This deal smells too muhc like the Wally for Ricky Davis deal, no one really improves and didn't need to be made.
