Could we pick up both Wells and Davis?
Is it realistically possible for us to like sign Wells AND trade for Ricky Davis?
OT: I want to see a S&T of Mike James and whatever Houston wants besides Bosh and Gnani for T-mac!!!!
what a dream it would be to have T-Mac back in TO AND have Bosh!!!!

Mike James is walking for nothing and Minny would never give up Davis in a sign and trade for MJ

Re: Could we pick up both Wells and Davis?
mike james can't go to houston simply because they are over the cap. and i think minny is over the cap 2. the only way that mike james can get a contract is through a S&T (to the teams he's chosen, of course).

They wouldn't.............besides if they did it would be foolish to think he could be had for Mike James and anything besides Bargnani and Bosh.

Ricky davis would be a bigger cancer than Bonzi wells. I think they're one of the worst locker room guys you could find in the NBA. one word....WHY?

isn't the MLE roughly $4.2 million? i doubt he'd sign for that because he isn't taking a huge pay raise like he said he wanted/deserved

Re: Could we pick up both Wells and Davis?
not sure i'd want either of these players but i wouldn't necessarily not want them. on the other hand, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't want both of them (together). i wouldn't build my team that way. i'd prefer to find the best fit and run with him, and if the best fit is either bonzi or ricky, fine- run with him. if not, look elsewhere.
i think our perceived hole around the perimeter is more of an illusion, though. for one, mop is money- people seem to be... scared to get comfortable (? i guess i'll go with it) with the idea of peterson as more than just a "role player", but that'll change. that should have changed by now (imo). and i'm pretty sure that it has changed in the eyes of sam and bryan already, who appear to see him as an important cog in our lineup- as well they should (imo).
but it's the other player i'm more interested in defending. i think i'll look back on the summer/offseason of 2006 as the final year before the fans collectively began to appreciate joey graham- and as the final year before joey himself justified a more positive rep around the league. i can't tell the future, that's true, and i doubt i ever will, but i'm interested to see how the same people who are uncomfortable with joey graham today will view his game ~ 6 months down the road. "uhh... umm... he's pretty good, i guess..."
when you think about it like that ("6 months"), it doesn't appear to be far away. but then again, while i am expecting a major turnaround on his behalf- or improvement might be a better term for it- it won't just happen over the course of the next 6 months. i think it's already well underway, i think joey improved substantially over the final ~ 40 games of last season, while i'm sure he's been a warrior throughout the summer months to date, and i simply think that the way he approaches his sophomore season will be far different than the way he approached his rookie campaign. that's not to say that he was a disappointment, not at all, but rookies are seeing things for the first time; some players remain 'rookies' for a couple of years before they get a handle on all of it. with joey, i think one season is long enough for him to gain comfort/composure with those issues and i expect the joey graham we see in november to be a monster.
so tying it back to this thread, i'm not that uncomfortable with joey as a starter (and who said he would be, anyway? are we sure andrea's coming off the bench? and for how long?). to be perfectly honest, i expect joey to have a better season than ricky davis regardless, so that acquisition wouldn't stand as much of an improvement. in terms of bonzi, i don't know enough about him- i concede that he would bring added value, but again, for how long? if our capspace options are between this (ricky and/or bonzi) and waiting for the season to begin to see exactly where we need help, i'd side with the latter.
i just think joey's well underrated at the moment. i expect that to prove itself with time. but if it doesn't, don't worry: i'll go straight back to my crystal ball dealer and see if i can make use of that warranty that came with it. i paid big bucks for this thing! don't sell me some garbage- i want the real deal!
peace

Re: Could we pick up both Wells and Davis?
I really, really don't want Ricky Davis. I could see Bonzi fitting in to some extent, but even he could prove to be nuisance.
(I'd actually rather we just sign Mike James and play him as a scoring combo guard off the bench, but that is proabally highly unlikely at this point)
