IT is odd that only 3 teams were interested in him, but if you really thing about it, it could make sense. I mean, most teams are now looking more into PG's who can make plays for other wells, or blend into the team effortlessly (especially after Steve Nash's publicity over the last couple of years). On top of that, in some ways it was a breakout year for Mike James, but he was on the 2005-2006 Raptors, I mean, Bosh excluded, he was their best option for scoring (unless you think MP was, but MJ had the ball more because he played point) and on top of that, he was a 30+ year old in a contract year. I think it is simply fear of the worst thats bothering people.

The other thing, babcock_sux made his post a bit short, but considering he quoted a "sign and trade" post, I think he's just stating that he too would have preferred a sign and trade, if not than allow me to quote pmac.

He apparently chose to sign with Minessota in the end because they were the only team willing to give himthe 15% trade kicker, and he really wanted it because he thinks he's "spent his whole career being trade bait"

yup, this is pretty much how i thought it would go down...some ppl on this board insisted we would get a good player in return for james via a sign n trade, but i knew there only a handful of teams that would be truly interested in james and even then it would be hard to pull something off where we would find matching contracts, players that would be available, players that would interest us and fit our roster, etc, etc......

the demand simply wasnt there...economics 101...........
