This guy is unproven in the NBA, and this deal will back fire on BC.

Re: Raptors call 10am press conference to announce signing(s)
for first time in my life, i'm more interested in contract specs than the signing itself- how much does this take out of our pie, etc. but i'll tell you something: the pr campaign flying around anthony parker at the moment makes me very nervous. you could call it skill on the part of colangelo and management, whatever, it still makes me very nervous. fans, journalists and in betweens seem to be taking this hook, line and sinker. personally, i'm just hoping it doesn't go belly up.
peace

Re: Raptors call 10am press conference to announce signing(s)
I'm good with this signing... last year.. AP did exactly what most mid level swing guards do to the raps... scored... meaning at 4 million... he is a bargain...
not only can he score... but he is clutch... and he knows how to win a championship game... which should come in handy when the raps are playing for a final playoff spot...

Bosh, Raptors reach terms: report
13/07/2006 1:43:50 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All-star centre Chris Bosh reportedly accepted a three-year contract extension with the Toronto Raptors late Wednesday night.
CBC Sports
Chris Bosh reportedly has accepted a three-year extension from Toronto.
(Mark Duncan/Associated Press)
Financial terms were not disclosed.
It was expected that Bosh would sign a five-year extension worth $80 million US, the maximum permitted under the NBA's salary guidelines.
But according to the Toronto Sun, he settled for three years and a player option for a fourth.
It is the same strategy employed by superstars Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, all of whom re-signed Wednesday for shorter terms with the expectation of hitting the jackpot down the road.
The collective bargaining agreement permits seven-year pros to negotiate contracts worth up to 30 per cent of a team's salary cap.
Bosh, 21, entered negotiations with one year remaining on his current four-year pact at $4.24 million US.
Bosh led the Raptors in virtually every offensive category this season with career-high averages of 22.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 39.3 minutes in 70 starts before suffering a season-ending thumb injury in a 125-116 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on March 26.
The first-time all-star was the only NBA player to average 22-plus points, shoot 50 per cent from the field (50.5) and 80 per cent from the foul line.
Bosh has averaged 16.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 36.6 minutes in 226 games (214 starts) since being drafted fourth overall out of Georgia Tech in 2003.
Also Wednesday, Toronto reportedly reached terms with free-agent swingman Anthony Parker with a three-year contract worth up to $12 million US.
Parker, 30, averaged 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 35.3 minutes in 25 appearances for Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv, earning most valuable player honours for the second straight Euroleague season.
Parker was selected 21st overall in the 1997 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets, but was traded with Jim Jackson, Eric Montross and Tim Thomas to the Philadelphia 76ers for Michael Cage, Lucious Harris, Don MacLean and Keith Van Horn.
Parker averaged only 2.4 points, 1.0 rebound and 7.0 minutes over 55 NBA games (39 for the Sixers, 16 with the Orlando Magic) before joining Maccabi Tel Avi in 2000.

Re: Raptors call 10am press conference to announce signing(s)
I'm sad to hear Bosh only signed 3 years, but I guess that's good? all of our signings are 3 years, it looks like BC wants that as well...
That's gonna be a lot of ppl to resign though, Pron dude, Parker, Bosh, who else?
