doesnt the cba run out in 3 yrs? if it does, this is probably why bosh, lebron, n wade signed only for the 3yr deal...the way the current cba is structured contract wise for young players, is frankly, not a very good deal for the players....they're pretty much only fa in name (which is y i was never really worried bosh would leave) and are locked in financially to the team that drafts them....

i suspect when the current cba runs out, the players will fight tooth and nail for a better deal, because the one they have now, isnt very much in there favour (e.g established superstars contract prior to the current cba e.g shaqs, kg's contract vs. substantially smaller contracts of the established superstars currently on the current cba...) this is probably what lebron, wade, bosh, and their agents are banking on in terms of that the plyrs will get a much better deal the next time around...

But this deal for Wade and LeBron are extensions so they will be under contract for 4 years.
