Everyone's favourite role player (and Soda Popinski lookalike) Michael Curry has ascended to the position of VP of Basketball Operations of the NBA.

Curry was the Union President for the Player's Association, went on to become the Vice President of Player Development for the NBA D-League, and will now continue to oversee player development for the D-League while he works for the NBA in his new position.

Curry retired as a pro player in 2005.

Makes you wonder if the "playing" part of the NBA was just an obstacle for him this whole time.

Congratulations to Michael Curry. He has a lot of respect from the players and hopefully that won't change.
