Thoughts on Nestorvic
After two games the big fella is averaging 10.5 points, 6 boards and 2.5 assists, apparently he showed some grit and ripped open his shirt in Slovenia's recent loss to Italy. While shooting 53% from the field and 1/2 from threes, I would say he has had a decent showing against Senegal and Italy.
I feel like I haven't given the addition of Nestorvic enough "love", the more I think about it, the more I think that the success of the team would have to include solid play from him. Where (on the floor),how well and subsequently how much Bargani plays is up in the air. Besides Bosh (who I don't like at center), Nesterovic, and Bargani, who can play center on this team?

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
with all the acquisitions i feel that rasho gets snubbed around here.. i feel that he is going to play a big role for this team.. defense and rebounding wise. hopefully he'll have a good showing.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
If Rasho can come in and play consistant minutes...putting up 7-8 points and 6-7 rebounds, set some solid sreens and block a shot I will be very happy.
Rasho will allow Bargnani to come off the bench and play against other teams second units....this is huge for us. Bargnani will be able to take a little time to adjust to the NBA, and get some touches with the bench players.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
Against Italy he played a great match..he was probably the mvp of Slovenia..In SA he had not much space and offensively he wa very shy..but he is potentially a good offensive player..HEre in Europe before going to the Nba he was considered a talented offensive minded player...in Nba has been more like a defensive specialist...but he can do it all..to mew a good acquisition..

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
Rasho will not put of huge board numbers - but will help Bosh get alot more rebounds. As Bosh will not have to focus on banging with the bigger bodies, he will have more energy/focus to demonstrate his rebounding skills - I expect Bosh to get 11+ rebounds a game.
Rasho does not put up huge board numbers himself, but his presence will help in reducing the team rebounding deficit.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
Eric Montross v.2001-2002, at the very least. Doesn't have to pad the stat sheet but contribute to the wins.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
WAY better than Monstross.
Good hands vs hands of stone.
Nice post passer vs no frigging idea.
Decent mid-range jumper vs brick chucker.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
On a pretty slim Slovenian team, I like the 2.5 assists per game.
Bosh could benefit from a good post passer, as can the wingmen.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
Don't be so hard on Montross. He is a guy that would've been so helpful to us had he stayed healthy. No doubt in my mind he could've been our starting centre for the last three or so years.
Somewhat like Jason Collins. Good post defender, not much else. Nice 15 footer.

considering we had Araujo and Sow for 2 of those years, that doesn't say much ... especially if you say he's as good as collins...

10/6/2.5 if he can put that up in 30 MPG we are in good shape.

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
Radoslav Nesterovic - 14 points, 6/12 FG,1/1 3pt,7 rbs, 1 assists against the USA, another solid showing

Re: Thoughts on Nestorvic
The assist he had was a very nice find...he caught the ball at the foul line....drew the defence abd then found the open man under the hoop.....solid basketball play. He may not grab lots of rebounds, but he does keep his man from getting to the ball as well....this should help out the other forwards to get some easy boards.

Wasn't trying to knock Montross in my post. Just meant to say that, like Montross, Nesterovic won't pad the stat sheets but will contribute in ways that won't show up on the stat sheet i.e. boxing out, defense (both one-on-one and help), knows when to take the shot and when not to take it, etc.
To be more blunt, I expect him to be what what was expected of Hoffa, plus the blocks.
