Re: the raptors big-men of the past:
Anybody remember Garth Joseph?
Back to the beginning - Acie Earl. Scored 40 in a game for us! (Fluke/garbage game)
Sharone Wright - wouldacoulda - career done in by injuries.

I think he nailed a pair of pressure free throws too. I was impressed. I hope he gets minutes somewhere.

Re: the raptors big-men of the past:
Yeah, Mamadou and Keon Clark were both the truth... it's a shame we had to make that trade for Hakeem to screw us out of being able to sign Keon. I still contend that he'd still be in the league had he stayed in Toronto.

Re: the raptors big-men of the past:
thinking back to the old days makes me appreciate our current position. as much as some of us like to remember the "vc frontcourt"- with antonio, jyd, oak, willis, hakeem, all those guys- they would never pose a reliable threat on the offensive end. most of the offense overall ran through/with vince, but the frontcourt was especially weak offensively too. their points would be scored on putbacks and garbage buckets, rarely in the post or off the dribble.
we now have bosh, of course, and bargnani's learning more every day. it just seems like we finally have legitimate threats to score upfront. and while our backcourt isn't particularly strong in that capacity anymore, they're certainly not lacking, and after all, they're just a backcourt. even mediocre guards have more of a knack for scoring than mediocre forwards or centres so it doesn't leave as much of a hole.
our team is well put-together, imo, at least on paper. we often have two post threats to draw double teams and always have two effective point guards to open the offense for the rest of our players. it's a good mix right now.
