Re: Am I the only one high on Rasho?

I watched 6 of the 8 raptors game this preseason. Rasho is good, he is solid and can Box out many players. He does his job and never complains. Very good hands for a big man, can catch the ball on the run, especially with Ford bullet pass. On a fast break, he can finish strong, slams it in rather then a la- up. Post up; he has a nice hook shot and effective 15 ft away from the base-line of the court (Chuck mentioned that when he took a shot from there, its money for Rasho). He has long hands and can block shots effortlessly, did on Lebrone. Rasho is a good fit, we have too many back-court players that play on the 3 point line, Rasho is our man in the middle. He is a compliment to Bosh.

Re: Am I the only one high on Rasho?

i've seen him hit long jumpers i wouldnt have known he could make, he's a good boxout and position guy with soft hands.. basically unnoticeable but thats a good thing for me IMO. not alot of mistakes

I'm glad that we have him and that we acquired him without having to use our cap space. I hope his minutes are limited though.

If he could be a more productive version of Hoffa, that would be great.

Re: Am I the only one high on Rasho?

Two things I expect from Rasho:

1) Improvement in defense in the lane
2) A body to fill out the middle that doesn't hurt the team's chances of winning.

He has done both in the 8 preseason games, and expecting anything more is wishful thinking IMO. A center doesn't need to get a double-double to be serviceable.

Re: Am I the only one high on Rasho?

Other than fouling a lot and airballing some close shots I didn't see much out of him in pre-season. I do have high hopes for him, though. I think he can make a quiet impact in the same way as players like Mike Curry or Alvin Williams have for our team in the past.

Please, don't ever mention it to me. We (SLO) all saw his attempt (3pointer) against Italy in last seconds (why on earth did he shoot?)...
I wouldn't say a thing if Rasho was such a 3point shooter as Sabonis was, for example, but so far, he isn't even close to him. I really don't understand him - he as a center should stay inside and play his own position, but somehow he keeps shooting from outside (even threes), which didn't help us much in whole WC.

I remember his past seasons in Europe (Kinder, for example), where he played at his position and was quite good. So he can play a classic center if he wants. But for last few years he changed his game - he improved his defence but at the same time became too soft, too pasive in attack. That's a pitty, because I belive he has ability to some 15 points and 9 reb. per game if he wants...
