Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
Ok ok ok, yes I have an obession for CV, but I can't keep thinking after seeing those Marcus William's footage, BC really wanted him and from what I see right now, Marcus is gonna be real special, better than TJ? I don't know, what do you guys think?
Will AB be better than CV?
The way I see it, we could of have our pass first in Marcus William (if we traded down, not with the first pick overall of course) and kept CV.
Although I have to admit that MW falling so low is a blessing because he couldn't have had a better tutor in Kidd, MW will prolly become much better than he would had he not been drafted by Nets.

Re: Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
Can we wait for Williams to become a good NBA player before assuming he is something special?
I know a lot of Nets fans are high on him (as they are on Mile Ilic, Hasan Adams, Jay Williams, and every other player on their roster from preseason) but the kid still has everything to prove.

or, there's a distinct possibility that bargnani will be better than chalie.
that said, if we'd drafted marcus williams somehow, i would have been very content with a Calderon/Williams point guard rotation and then we could have kept Charlie and drafted Bargnani. trading down to select Gay and Marcus would have been perfect.

Re: Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
^Hindsight is 50/50
Think about the potential though:
M. Williams
F. Jones
R. Gay
C. Villanueva
C. Bosh
Think about how many blocks/steals that lineup would get each night leading to fast break points. If Williams doesnt pan out, which he will, we would still have Calderon.
This would take another season to develop though but i think bosh n villa would be able to hold eachother down n support.motivate eachother..
dam i wonder how long its gonna take us to get over charlie

Re: Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
To answer my own question, i think about 4 more games should do it. Thats how long i give the NBA before they realize the centre of attention is gonna bring more than they Bargnian-ed for.

Re: Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
man we gonna haveto forget bout charlie cuz there no way we gonna get him back..hes gone and it not like we got nothnig in return, TJ can play...its just gonna take a lil more time for the team to mesh together...and bargnani looks good out there on the court except for the fouling part but when that stops i expect him to produce...charlie can play but bargnani got that potential to be a dirk like player which is un guardable do to his size and shooting ability...just be patient...i just hope we dont have to wait tooo long

Re: Marcus William + CV or TJ + AB?
I think it is about time you defect to the MIL board.
No offense, I think you're a good poster but these CV love in threads are getting old.
The reality is that the ceiling on the TJ/AB combo is much higher than MW/CV, and BC knew that.
Not to mention we would have been in some serious trouble if were relying on the services of a rookie PG to run the show. (Atleast a rookie PG not named Chris Paul)
I beleive that MW's potential is somehwere around a 15 and 7 point gaurd. Where TJ ALREADY averages 12 and 6. And is almost 16 and 8 on the season thus far.
It's difficult to argue the CV AB thing at this stage, but IMO AB is more valuable based on his size alone. Even if he only averages 14 and 7 at the peak of his career, but does so as a legit centre he would be more valuble to this team.
To be honest he reminds me a lot of bogut at this time last year, just more mobility and range and a little less around the basket. (which I feel can be taught...just not by mitchell)
Is it a risk? yes. But one I support. BC has positive track record with regards to calculated risks. Drafting Marion and Amare, signing nash to a HUGE contract, Joe Johnson for Diaw. Give it a chance the guy knows what he is doing.

um Jay Williams? Jay Williams was terrible and everybody agreed.
Theres this one Net fan who is randomly crazy about Hassan Adams.
you are prolly right about Illic, personally I don't see how he is that good, but I guess everybody's assuming his development will be like Krstic's
