You have a hard time making that argument against a team with prime Shaq/prime Kobe (despite lack of depth)

That and the fact that they got totally jobbed by the refs in that series.
Don't forget that he took two Blazers teams to the Finals and lost to the Pistons in 1990 and the Bulls in 1992. Two clearly superior teams.
Man, Adelman Sucks.

Re: Time to Fire Sam
how about this for a myth.. my belief is that Jay Triano is our curse!
He has been in three different coaching changes:
One year with Lenny, the year we won 24 games.
One year with O'neal, we won 33 games.
Two years with Sam, 33 games won in 04-05 and 27 in 05-06.
When was the last time we were in the playoffs? 5 years. The next 4 we never came close after Peddie made it compulsory for every coach to have Jay part of their staff.
Colangelo should fire him instead of Sam and see if anything sparks the team!

I have felt, for sometime, that sam should no longer be the coach of this team. I don't think BC should have brought him back, but I understand why he did.
I still reserve the right to criticize sam, but you are right ultimately the decision to keep him here is on BC. That being said I don't want him to rush the decision. Nor do I want to promote an assistant on an interim basis.

Re: Time to Fire Sam
its going to be Sam's head if this season doesn't get us to the playoffs.Leaving Colangelo to bring in his own guy next offseason. I hope we go for some proven world class talent at coach.
I'm dreaming, but Larry Brown would be nice.

Re: Time to Fire Sam
they shouldve fired him this summer. he just hasnt been doing his job. yenno sams a good guy and hes been great for the city of toronto but he hasnt been great for the toronto raptors organization. he's 10 times better than Kevin Oneal but still...they need a veteran coach. they keep hiring these rookie coaches. you expect them to turn the raps into a contender? in a year or two sam can go but its too late now..it would just screw up the season if they let sam go now

Sam ain't the one playing defense and rebounding its not his fault tell BC to make a move for a defender I hate the way everybody points the gun at sam after every loss there somethings he can't control out there live with it

Yeah but why the team waited so long to start fouling the Lakers in the fourth and who was on the floor can be Sam's fault.

I don't want LB. BUT name one talent that LB unfairly benched. (Darko excluded, even though I completely understand why he was at the end of the rotation)

Re: Time to Fire Sam
It's not as if Sam is the greatest at developing young talent anyways. Andrea will be his greatest test so let's hope he figures it out.

I don't blame sam for that I don't know if you noticed but sam was yelling foul ,foul!!! even Routins pointed it out but the game was already over in the minds of raps they packed it in at the end
