Whenever Sam Mitchell is asked about Andrea Bargnani and his rookie season struggles, he more or less says the same thing -- the big Italian is a rookie.

i think as soon as Bargnani can figure out how to stay on the court without fouling too much you'll see him out there on a regular basis. Colangelo didnt draft him to sit on the bench.

Bargnani has been pretty conservative in his comments in English language media, but he's been going off in front of the Italian language reporters. I was watching the Italian equivalent of TSN on my dish after the Lakers game and this is a translation of what he said in response to a question about his practice habits in relation to his playing time:

"Practice? We talking about practice! Practice. Not a game. NOT A GAME.

I forgot to mention this one - Bargnani was asked whether he thought he should be in the starting lineup and he responded (translated from Italian) with the following:

"How many two-time Benetteon junior all-stars do you know come off the bench?
How many Italian league champions come off the bench?

Then why Andrea Bargnani?"

I'm thinking long-term and really wondering how he and Bosh will co-exist. That's a nice problem to have, but I'm getting the feeling that Bargnani will be most effective when he's the go-to guy.
