That doesn't sound like you.
Anyways, I don't know how the league can rectify this.

I am always calm.
Anyway, the league should at least give us a 2-0 lead the next time we play the Hawks. Given it was the Hawks organization who screwed up, this seems reasonable.

New duty for Raptor posse
40-member road show gets additional responsibility of counting team's points
Nov. 28, 2006. 01:00 AM
DOUG SMITH
SPORTS REPORTER
The Raptor travelling road show took off from Pearson yesterday afternoon with the regular numbers and a new responsibility.
After the fiasco in Atlanta on Friday, when Hawks officials missed a key Raptor basket — an oversight that never registered with the Toronto bench — the team has now decided one of its approximately 40-member travelling group will be solely responsible for making sure all of the team's points are counted.
Keith D'Amelio, the team's assistant trainer and strength and conditioning coach, is now in charge of scoreboard watching.
With other members of the staff otherwise engaged, D'Amelio was given the new task starting tonight in Oklahoma City.NBA officials were still reviewing the gaffe in Atlanta yesterday and had no comment.
On the play with about 4 1/2 minutes remaining, every member of the Atlanta scoring crew missed a basket by Toronto's T.J. Ford that would have had a huge impact on the game had it counted.

Although an event like this is very rare, that's a good idea to have someone double-checking the scoreboard. Just in case it happens again.
But seriously, how long does it take to for the NBA to "review the gaffe in Atlanta"?

Re: Raps shorted 2 points in the Atlanta game..
well we can officially put this one to rest.......
After 4 days of diliberating on the issue the NBA league officials have acknowleged the error, but will not retroactively change the final score or credit TJ ford with the 2 extra points. League rules state that the error must be caught before the end of the game for an adjustment to be made.
Worst of all, no Atlanta scorekeeper was fined, suspended or dismissed over this incident, so the league is basically just sweeping this under the rug. I was hoping for a little retrobution, but oh well!

Re: Raps shorted 2 points in the Atlanta game..
What most of you fail to understand is that changing the rightful course of events has an irreversible impact on the universal order.
For example, if TJ's lay-up is properly counted, the Hawks' have less room to breathe on ensuing possessions and are more likely to miss. At the same time, the Raptors level of panic would have decreased over the last 4 minutes. You just never know what would have happened - but there is clearly a reasonable chance that the Raptors would have won the game or forced overtime.
More broadly speaking, if the game went into overtime, we would have all spent an extra 10 minutes of our lives watching the game. How many chance encounters, lost/won bets, missed phone calls, etc... were created by this breach the time space continuum? Who knows what could have happened, or what would not have happened?
The only way to partially restore order would be to replay the final 4:33 of the game, starting from TJ's lay-up. They could do it the next time the Raptors travel to Atlanta.
