I figured we'd look at Jose next because we have seen him in a Raps uni more than most of the other players.

However, this is based on Jose's play so far this season.

Has he lived up to your expectations? No? Why?

Calderon is averaging 7.4 ppg, 3.4 apg and 1.5 TO's in almost 18 mpg.

based on what he did in the WCs and how his confidence from that event has transferred over to this season, im more than satisfied with what Jose has been able to do...

he provides stability at the 1 and theres no drop off between him and TJ...TJ as of late has shown why he should be the starting point, but with Calderon, there isnt much of a dropoff (if any)...

Yes and no. At times he has sparkled but he is losing confidence in his shot again. If he can get back into the mindset he had when he started this campaign he can easily split minutes with TJ and our guards. If not he is a very good reserve guard and a difference maker, which is nothing to huff at.

What speedy said, but I expected his stats to be higher. double digits in scoring and atleast 5 apg. He should have more than 18mpg though, 20 min.

Yes I think he's playing like the Raptors expected him to play when they signed him last season. At the end of the season last year, he had to confidence, and never wanted to take a jump shot because he didn't think he could make them. But playing in the World Championship this summer really helped him to get is confidence back, now he's shooting a lot more jump shots, and he's making them, and he's driving to the rim a lot as well. He's a very good passer as well. Still needs to work on is defense, but I am very satisfied in Calderon this season. He's a good back up and hopefully he keeps it up for the rest of the season.

Calderon has exceeded my expectations, vastly. I expected him to play slightly better than last year, show some improvement in some areas such as control of the flow, jump shot, dribble, drives, etc. but he has vastly improved in all of those categories. He makes his jumpshots, knows where and when to pass the ball, and he has that nifty drive to the basket that he does at least once a game that is just incredible.

So yeah, he's by far exceeded what I expected from him.
