Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?

Armed with about $2 million (U.S.) in salary cap space and looking to improve an 8-14 team, the Raptors have been making calls for about a week trying to help facilitate a multi-team deal for the recalcitrant Philadelphia 76ers guard.
|
Quote:
According to sources, Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo has contacted a handful of teams offering his cap space — and players — as a conduit for a deal. There have been no serious talks yet, but the longer Iverson sits idle, the more chances Colangelo will have to facilitate a deal.
The Raptors would be looking for a proven scorer who plays either shooting guard or small forward in any trade.

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
Available as in on the trading block? I don't see denver parting with Smith with the way he is playing, although if they get Iverson ... I guess they could part. The only 2 on the list I would want is Corey and Smith, cat is undersized, we have enough problem on d and perimeter enough, jackson is bad news actually I wouldn't mind Davis a line up of Davis and Fred Jones would be hella exciting Marquis is a scrub.

Bring On Cmaggs.
There is a possibility that it happens.
Glad to see Colangelo recognizes the need for a wing scorer, AP Jones Mop and Graham just aren't effective enough.

It's worth noting that Kyle Korver could also fit the bill.

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
I saw some other trade rumour here today where it was suggested that Juan Dixon might show up in Toronto

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
i'm sure bryan thought about it- until he thought about it enough to uncover the available scorers listed in post two of this thread. then he didn't stopped thinking about it.

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
out of those guys..i doubt JR Smith would be coming to us, if the reports are rigth and Denver is close to gettting AI, then i would think JR smith would be going to philly some way
Stephen Jackson, umm knucklehead with authority issues i would stay away.
Marquis would be nice, he plays defence, but he has been underwhelming in Indy.
Ricky Davis, somehow i just dont liek him. Seems selfsih, could be a decent wing, but is he really an improvemnet over MoPete?
Same as Ricky Davis...would he really be an improvement over MoPete? I guess so, but somethign tells me that he owuld be reluctant to come to Toronto, and would prolly ***** about it to.
Magette, asked for a trade out of Clipperland, would be a welcome addition, if we were getting the 17 ppg Magette, if not his rebounding would be welcome.

It was through a four way deal where Iverson ended up in Denver, and Portland was used to faciliate the deal.

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
Grrrr. I just can't believe that the Nugz got JR for Eisley to begin with AND they still have 2 picks in the upcoming draft.
Anyone know what became of Dejaun Wagner after his return with the Warriors?

Re: Colangelo looking to trade for scorer?
I honestly think New York could be a nice trade partner..
We can acquire a small forward that hustles and plays defense (David Lee, Jared Jefferies)
AND/or
A shooting guard that can shoot the lights out (Jamal Crawford, Quentin Richardson)
..
Mo Pete, Jorge Garbajosa for David Lee, Jamal Crawford
I'd do it in a second.. Then we'd probably have to trade Freddy or package him in this deal and eat some cap.
