Vince Carter
Since Carter is playing against the Raptors tonight I've decided to make this topic. I know there's already tons of topic talking about Half man Half amazing. I want to know what are your toughts of Vince Carter, the way he's playing since he has joined the Nets organization.
I personally think he's playing really well since joining the Nets organization, especially this season, one big reason is because this is his last year of is contract, and he wants to make a lot of money for is next contrat. He's also having is best season since 2001.
A lot of the Raptors fans are angry at him because the way he left Toronto(I'm not one of them) because he quit on the Raptors, and he hasn't really got injured for a long period of time since joining the Nets, which makes people ask themselves, was he faking his injuries in Toronto? I don't believe it because the first time he got really injured he still enjoyed playing with the Raptors, and I don't think that a player would fake an inury even if he doesn't enjoy playing with a certain team.
Also I would like to ask to every person that are mad at Vince Carter for leaving the way he did, would you be mad at him if he got traded in the offseason instead of the middle of the season?
I think the person who's most to blame about Carter's situaton is Babcock because he should of been more patient with the situation instead of cracking on one of the first calls he got for Carter's services. He should of done the same thing Bird did with Artest, waiting till he has a good offer.
One more question to the Vince Carter haters? Will you always be one?

Re: Vince Carter
Carter been playing great for the NETS ever since he got traded (Most noticably in the playoffs) this has nothing to do with his contract, it's just Vince being Vince.
I'm a fan of Carter, he's bigger than my fav basketball team.

Re: Vince Carter
I think the reason that I, and most Toronto fans dislike the man is the way that he left. If he played full out while the demand was there, I don't think people would mind as much.
I do find it difficult though to hate on a dude with so much game and style. When I went to the last game I booed him, but I don't think I can anymore out of respect. It still makes me angry knowing that he could have been doing this for the Raptors.

Re: Vince Carter
Carter asked the management to trade him during the off-season when his value was hight -- because he just tore it up the second half of the season. They refused to let him, so who to blame here? This is why I don't blame him one bit. The guy came forward and said it was time to move on.

Re: Vince Carter
That's what I said Airfly, they should of traded him during the off season, because he was coming off a good season, and the Raptors would of gotten more for him then what they got. Also Timbaland I respect your post, because I loved what you said that you cannot boo him anymore because of of respect, because the man is a great basketball player, and he's so enjoyable to watch, because he puts a great show, every time he steps on the court.
That's why I disagree with people saying that he's only playing this well because this is his last year of is current contract, because since joining the Nets he has been tearing it up with averaging more then 25ppg.

The man is an incredible basketball player. The way he left was very unprofessional, but it's not that big of a deal. Just get over it. I live in Toronto, I love the Raptors, AND Vince is still my favorite player.

Hi, the Raptors were paying him 10+ mil a year to play basketball. Don't you think they at least had some say in whether or not he can leave? I agree that the Raptors did not do a good job building a winning team, but let's face it, VC never met his end of the bargain after he signed that extension either. Just because you request something doesn't mean you would get it every single time. The fact that VC broke the rule of being a professional in order to get his demands met is the reason why many Raptors fans lost respect for him. He wlll be a good player and will have a good career in New Jersey, but he will never be a player that I would want on my team simply because of character.

Re: Vince Carter
I really don't see why you brought this to the Raptors forum, you should know who you're asking.

Wrong! I don't think most Toronto fans dislike VC. Many friends of mine and I like VC very much. VC wanted leaving because he got big problems with that new stupid GM. VC is a great player and did a lot of good things for Raps and Toronto. But we cannot stop those narrow minded fans who gave stupid boos to VC which really drive me nut!

The "new stupid GM" wasn't hired when Vince started wanting to leave.

Re: Vince Carter
To each their own, but what Vince did to our team is irrepairable. He can go eat a dick as far as I'm concerned.

I thought I was the only Raptor fan left on the planet that didn't hate Vince. I just find some of the hate really unnecessary. Hate him if you want, but most of the Torontonian VC haters I know take it too far, and I find it really immature. Vinsanity has done far far far more positives than negatives for this franchise. Two years have passed, let it go. We have Bosh to look forward to.

Re: Vince Carter
im indifferent to him...not a favorite player but over the past two years i've cooled my dislike for him...
the only thing that still bothers me is the fact that he can control any game that he plays by using his athleticism and being aggressive, but he has those nights (like tonight) where he looks disinterested in the game and plays likes its a shootaround....the fact that he can be so good with the talent he has which is left untapped and the fact that he was on our team is what bugs me...plus it didnt help when he left Toronto and was on the Nets putting up 23-25 points per the games after he was dealt...

Yeah, it's in the past, but don't downplay it. It is a big deal, especially considering how he crippled our team for now and for the future by tanking on us like he did. If you're a fan of Vince's, fine... but don't act like he didn't **** us over.
