Two Raptor Rookies In The Top 5! [merged]
Quote:
Last Week: 1
Garbajosa picked up his third career double-double in Sunday's win over Golden State and has grabbed six boards or more in eight of the last nine games. And in general, his shooting is far more steady these days than it was when the season started.
|
Garbajosa continues to stay atop. Do I smell a 27 year old ROY?

It's not just the numbers (see the Line of the Week above). It's the skill set. He's got a smooth jumper, which he can hit off the dribble, and he can take it to the hole. While his defense is far perfect, he will alter your shot if you try to go over him.

Il Mago continues to soar the rankings in a rapid rate.

It would be awesome/awkward/exciting if they went down to the wire for ROY. I wonder if they would pass to each other?

They're 2-3 in the weekly rankings.
Mago is only 0.2 away from having the rookie lead in blocks and considering the other top rookie blockers are Millsap, Aldridge and S. Williams, all players that are having their minutes cut, Bargs should have the lead in that rookie category soon.

It's cool seeing Bargs climing up the rankings every week.

Rookie Rankings
Two of the Raptors rookies are in the top four, Garbojosa being number one and Bargnani being number four. Before the season started I said that Garbo was going to win the rookie of the year, well if the season would of ended today he would be the leading candidate, and what can I say about Il Mago(Andrea Bargnani) he's playing awesome lately, he had another brilliant game yesterday, 18 points 10 rebounds and 6 blocks, I see Garbo and Il Mago being 1-2 in the near future.

I don't think the actual award is handed out be NBA.com...
Hard for me to believe that the voters won't opt for Adam Morrison, unless the Euro-Canadian is better in virtually every category.
Just a cynic, I guess..

I think you're right. Ammo would probably have a big edge on Jorge due to his age and professional basketball experience.
