Bargnani's natural progression
Saw some signs of concern at the end of the road trip as his minutes were somewhat reduced. Could be a couple of reasons for that, he may be tiring(doubt it), team was facing matchup problems, foul trouble etc. Another question will be when Bosh comes back does that signal less touches and minutes for Andrea. To me its almost as important to develope this guy as it is to win games(i think you can do both) but maybe others feel differant.

Re: Bargnani's natural progression
I think that the main factor is tiring..he suffers especially back to backs that there are not here in Europe..

i say its fatigue too...remember, it was 4 games in 5 nights on a WC swing....im sure he'll do fine with a little rest after the Christmas break...

Good points, I think its inevitable that all our bigs will see some reduction in minutes. He has shown that touches won't be problem, dude looks to score. Even if Smitch plans on giving 15 min, Bargs' confident and he's gonna look for his. If he gets hot you gotta play him. On the nights that he's on, there no one on this team thats a harder to guard. Don't get me wrong TJ and Bosh are better players, but his quickness and shooting for a guy thats a legit 7 feet is extrmelly rare. He could end up being one of the best shot blockers in the league with minutes ( in a couple seasons) and his rebounding has clearly been a conscious effort and results have followed.

Re: Bargnani's natural progression
I personally don't think its fatigue, he didn't play a lot against the Sonics because he was in foul trouble in the first half, yes I know he only shot 1-7 from the field, but he also only played around 18 minutes. He didn't play a lot of games at the beggining of the season, so I doubt it's fatigue.
Obviously that his touches will be down when Bosh comes back, but he'll still get some opputunities to score, we'll he get the ball as much I doubt it.
Also you have to remeber he's only a rookie, and he'll have some bad games, he's not perfect.

Missed a lot of open ones, too. Shooting the ball a bit flat and a bit too hard. Maybe TJ is hogging all of Hopla's time.

Re: Bargnani's natural progression
I'm surprised that TJ has been pretty good so far this season with the jumpers.

The optimist would say 8 boards in 29 minutes for someone who was supposedly a terrible rebounder is pretty good, i'm not worried about his shooting ability at all.

Re: Bargnani's natural progression
I think he'll still be able to put up a similar amount of shots once Bosh gets back in, cuz Il Mago "anchors"/is the centerpiece of the offense of the second unit. So even if Bosh comes back, someone is going to be pushed into the second unit and that player will still defer to AB.
