Bosh won't rush back
Chris Bosh worked up a sweat but that’s about it last night and there’s now a possibility he won’t return to the Raptor lineup until 2007.
Willing to heed the advice of a more senior teammate, and still wanting to get some full practices in before coming back from a bone bruise on his knee, Bosh held out the possibility he won’t play until the Raptors face Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns at the Air Canada Centre on Jan. 3.
“A vet told me, ‘Don’t open up on the road,’ ” Bosh said after practice last night.
“I don’t know why, but if a veteran tells me that, I’m going to follow his advice.”
It actually makes great sense for the Raptors to hold Bosh out for another week, which would mean the all-star power forward will have missed 12 games.

Re: Bosh won't rush back
Smart move for Bosh, his future is more important. But what about my fantasy team?

Re: Bosh won't rush back
I don't want him to come back till he fills 100%, the Raptors are playing really well without him right now, so he doesn't need to rush into anything. Also the end of the season is more important right now, because if we want to make a playoff push, we'll need him at 100% at the end of the season.

Re: Bosh won't rush back
i, like most raptor fans only want bosh back at a 100%, but the more critical injury to worry about is the 'vince carter' syndrom, this is more devastating to the player and franchise as it's 100% physcological and can fool a player to believing he's really injured...it forces a player to stay longer on a disable list although he wasn't really injured in the first place
on a serious note, since bosh knows he's the leader of this team and he knows the added bennifit of him being out (even a few more games than he needs to be) is that the team can learn an idenity and also figure out there own individual talents(and i know that bosh is being truthful about his injury)...
just look at the coincidental bennifits since Bosh's injury
-tj is showing why BC let go of a prospect (CV) to get him, this guy just plays with his heart on his shoulder and his teamates respect that, he makes impossible plays and seems to get clutch baskets down the stretch...
-AB, this guy was growing with Bosh still healthy, but since bosh's injury he's taken the turn to stardum due to the added minutes/confidence in him from coach/teammates...
honerable mentions:
Garbo and AP are showing the critics why BC went overseas to import talent
-rest of the team, are learning to look for the best shot and hustle for boards, although they're not quite there yet, they are on the right path...also not always worrying about Bosh being the main scoring option allows for more options on the floor (which can only be more bennificial when bosh comes back)

Re: Bosh won't rush back
when bosh comes back will he be able to fit into the new raptor team play
i ask this cause the raptors are jellin without bosh and winning
bosh isolates hisself for one on one an this slows everything down. players jes stand around and watch him do his thing
the raptors are playing team ball now sorta euro style an i wonder if bosh will fit in now
i hope he does cause he is the team leader sorta or is ford the team leader now?

It'll probably take about one quarter for Bosh to get into the groove with the rest of the team, i mean thats why they practice and Bosh is smart enough to recognize the team is flowing real well.
Having Bosh's ability to take guys one on one is probably gonna help the Raps more than hurt them because when the offense stalls or goes cold having Bosh being able to take it to the hole or go to the line is huge
Also I think Bosh is still the leader of this team but TJ is right up there also

Re: Bosh won't rush back
i think it'll be interesting to see how easily we adapt (or don't) to having chris back in the lineup. everywhere we turn today we seem to be dosed with the, "they're winning without chris bosh- imagine what'll happen when he comes back!" idea, but that scares me. part of me thinks that- at this point anyway- our team is better without him, so to speak. i don't want that to be taken out of context but you can take it out of context if you wish. what can i do.
i might be the first but i'm totally worried about his future right now. he's an excellent player, a class person, a real leader for a team that absolutely needs one, but i hate the way he's looked running up and down the floor this year. i thought he was a major reason for our inability to produce on the break earlier, and while that hypothesis has since been debunked, it doesn't change my opinion that he still runs like a 35 year-old man these days (relatively speaking). but he's just 22: number one, i don't want him to get caught in the habit (which is what it is) of 'diagnosing' his own injuries; but number two, i totally don't want him to suffer from more real injuries. the stuff that's come this year (from his plantar fasciitis to this knee trouble- the opposite knee, which is even more alarming if you think about it) has not comforted me. the fact that he's now going to return well pre-all-star break, before the playoffs, having missed 15 games already due to injury (if not more) poses as a potent warning for the future.
he won't rush back, sure, but where exactly was the injury born in the first place? we barely got into december (remember, the nba season starts in november) before he had a entire biography of injury history for 06/07. i thought i'd be excited to see him play when he's 30 yo, but now i'd just like to see him play at all when he's 30. how many players who've gone through such injury trials early have gone on to injury-free ends to their careers? there aren't too many. i can't name a single one, to be honest.
but there's enough stuff to worry about right now. i'll just pretend like this issue doesn't bother me. chris bosh'll be fine and everything'll be roses.
peace

Re: Bosh won't rush back
Raptors without Bosh is like Superman(well in the Atlantic Division) transformed to Clark Kent.

big question is can bosh fit into euro team bball that the raptors are playing now. rasho, garbo, barg, parker, jose all playing team ball and ford giving them a scoring punch. who will lose pt when bosh comes back?
i liked marko jaric on minnesota. garnett is prolly in his last year with them so they will be rebuilding. do you think somebody like jaric would be good for raptors? mopete for jaric?

I concur, that's why I didn't want him playing for team USA. Alot guys out of that tournament are facing injuries.
