Atlantic Division rumours
#1
Steve Francis will be bought out, is interested in joining the Sixers.
Would Francis help the Sixers?
I suppose they could start him at the off-guard with Miller beside him and Iguodala, Dalembert, and Smith up front. But Miller isn't a great shooter (more of a drive-and-dish guy like TJ) so I don't know how well he'd work when Francis has the ball, and vice versa.

Chris Webber will be bought out, is interested in joining the Knicks.
Would Webber help the Knicks?
Curry and Lee are both playing out of their minds right now, with Channing Frye behind them. Would you take minutes from Lee and Frye to give to Webber, possibly only for the remainder of the season?

Re: Atlantic Division rumours
Wow.
Philly should not go anywhere near Francis, at least until the season ends.
They've got the hand they've been dealt and right now King has a ticket with very good odds of winning the lottery. I hope they don't give that ticket away.
Webber in Jersey? I know they probably don't have the cap room but for if it's just for the rest of the season and Webber came cheap ... why not the big, aging and oft-injured four?

Philly would rather buy Webber out and pay him $X-million a year, and add Francis for whatever they sign him for, than trade for Francis, and be on the hook for his entire contract.
But both situations are long-shots, IMO.

Re: Atlantic Division rumours
Webber is pretty much done. I don't think it matters where he goes. Even if he goes to the Knicks chances are he will only be backing up David Lee and play something like 20 mpg. The Knicks desperately needs rebounding since Eddy Curry doesn't do it on the defensive end. In that aspect, David Lee is indispensable and the C-Webb with 2 bad knees just can't deliver that at this point.
Francis in Philly would be interesting. It would be good for Francis' career because his numbers have been horrible this season in NY. I don't know why the Sixers would want Francis' contract though, doesn't it expire in 2009 or something?

Re: Atlantic Division rumours
If Webber is bought out and wants playing time, he should go to the Nets.
Francis and the Sixers makes sense too.

Re: Atlantic Division rumours
Dear God.....please Billy King, don't bring in Francis. That would hurt their chances at Oden, he'll stunt Iguodala, and he's not a player you really want to build your team around. They failed with Iverson, how are they going to go anywhere with Francis?

What he said.
Not much though, but enough to hurt their chances at a higher pick.
