Raptors are 11th in the league in attendance
Raptors are averaging 17,998 per game, 11th in the league.
Third highest after Miami and LA Clippers for a team who's not in a playoff position right now, and second highest after Utah for a team that didn't make the playoffs last year.
Raptors were 17th in the league last year averaging 17,054a game, and 16th the year before averaging 17,155.

Re: Raptors are 11th in the league in attendance
Wow. That's gotta be great news for the folks at MLSE. Miami should still have a championship glow on and Utah's fans are so loyal they'll always show up. It's nice to hear the Raps mentioned along side of them.
Seeing how many people show up to games in Memphis it is now clear that stealing a team from Vancouver was a disgrace.

Re: Raptors are 11th in the league in attendance
these numbers mean less to me every year. to be considered in the same group as, here, miami, the clips and washington is just odd. i'd be more interested to see how many people actually come through the turnstiles every game (and/or sit in their seats) than how many tickets are purchased.
imo, the fan experience in miami, for example, is completely different (when you consider the experience between fans and ignore the players on the floor) than/even inferior to the fan experience in toronto. i've never been to washington but the look on television would suggest the same opinion.
how much of these numbers is corporate? toronto has a large corporate following itself, absolutely, but those seats exist primary in the lower bowl and directly around the court. from what i know, miami and los angeles and washington could have corporate sections all over the arena, which would further skew their official 'attendance' totals.
and atlanta should, at least according to my criteria, probably be last. they're 20th on this list. it tells me all i need to know, really.
peace

good numbers considering many people took a wait and see approach this year.
With a couple of nice offseason moves, I can see us moving up into the the top 5 next year with increased season ticket sales.

I think Toronto has always had good attendance, that never really was a problem. Toronto is a good market.

If the Raptors can continue winning, I see that number rising over the 18,000 mark by the end of the season.

Toronto fans are great fans, and they usually support there team win or lose, like you've mention if the Raptors start to win more games we should have a lot more sell outs.

Thank god for Vince or would be dead. Vince not only built the Raptors and Canadian basketball, he also built Canada with John A. McDonald.

alright now if those fat cats that own seats in the red & Gold rows can show up more often on a consistent basis.

Re: Raptors are 11th in the league in attendance
these numbers are not a real display of how a team is really doing...for example a place like American Airlines Arena (home of heat, it could be center tho) has seating for 21K fans, so for then to get 19K is like us getting 17K, the stat should be calculated based on percentage of total seats sold, i think that would be a better judge, of how much each teams sells at its home games.

Re: Raptors are 11th in the league in attendance
My favourite stat is that Toronto's attendance went down when a certain player joined the team as compared to the attendance prior.

He also runs the Space Arm and cancelled the Avero.
Serioulsy though, anyone who thinks there wouldn't be a team in TO if VC never played here has no understanding of the amount of corporate money in the city and the grass roots support for basketball here.
