4th quarter, 2:00min to go, up or down by 1.
Who would you rather have at the point? TJ or Calderon?
Honestly, I am starting to get tired of TJ at the end of games, he thinks he is Dwade or something, his cluthness is overated. He really feels/thinks he can take over games in the final stretch, not much so far has indicated me so far that he can. He makes so many things offensively that makes me scream, whether it goes in or not.
Defensively, he is such a liability. I feel like Calderon has more "big games" experience under his belt (ie world championships) and is less hot headed than TJ.
My 5 on the floor would be
Calderon
AP
Mo Pete
Bosh
Gnani/Garbo/Rasho depending on the other team.

I don't really know.. but Jose is 10x the defender than ford is. Ford has the skills to play defence if he wanted to. Jose gives it all every minute he is on the court. Remember that TJ is still young yet and can only get better.

I'm not too worried about him. He's still young. So are Bosh and Bargs. Once those big guys start to establish themselves more we will be winning games like this.

Re: 4th quarter, 2:00min to go, up or down by 1.
I'm gonna defend TJ here
I think he's a clutch player and is the guy you want to have with 2 minutes to go in a close game
he is our most dynamic guard by default, and at the end of games you put the ball in the hands of your best guard and let him create, either for himself or others.
unfortunetely the Raps do not have a star guard that you can put the ball in their hands and say...get us a bucket(ie. Gilbert), so TJ is by default our best option.
After seeing that Derrick Martin last second 3point heave at the end of a game a week or so ago, you kinda see that a certain coach just isn't that good at manufacturing points when it counts the most, not to mention defensive stops.
(remember that last year the Raps lead the league in losses(18) when tied or leading with 2minutes to go in the game, it doesn't matter who is our PG, Sam has and will continue to lose close games)

Re: 4th quarter, 2:00min to go, up or down by 1.
I rather have Ford then Calderon at the end of the games, because I think he's a better passer then Calderon, and I believe that he has been in more big situations then Calderon, he has won games before by taking the last shot with a few seconds left, and Calderon has never been in that situation. So I rather have Ford with 2:00 minutes left then Calderon.

Ford has been huge in the closing moments, numerous times this season. He can create shots for himself with such ease and he's starting to hit these pullups at a very good clip. This will open things up even more for the rest of the team; it's just so hard to defend.

This is simply another way for you to vent your frustration with the TJ/CV trade.
Someone should just sticky one thread "Dee-zy's Complaints about TJ and praises of CV"

Re: 4th quarter, 2:00min to go, up or down by 1.
The situation has more to do with the coach and the makeup of the team. Sam Mitchell is horrible down the stretch and is slow to react or predict crunch time situations. Many times the Raps are a step behind before they even step onto the court with 2 min to go.
Every winning team has a perimeter player that is capable of handling and scoring the ball 1 on 1 at the end of the game. The Cavs have Lebron, Wizards with Arenas, Chicago with Gordon, Miami with Wade, Kobe, Nash, Billups, Dirk, Tmac, etc. Even teams like San Antonio and Utah have players like Tony Parker and Deron Williams that aren't particular stars but will take the ball at the end of games. For the Raptors, right now that guy is TJ Ford without a doubt. There isn't another player on the Raps roster that is better at creating his own shot. Calderon's offensive game is too limited. At times during the game he surprises his defenders by driving past them with the scoop layup but during crunch time or when the guy defending him is looking for that move, Calderon often loses his effectiveness due to his lack of offensive weapons. This is not to say that TJ Ford is a great game finisher or is amongst one of the best in the league, but he is way ahead of Calderon in that department for the simple fact that Ford can create his own shot whenever he wants and Jose couldn't. I agree that Ford is miles away from being a dependable clutch performer, but he has won quite a few games for us this year already and looks to be getting better with time. With better coaching and the development of other raps players, it should become easier for Ford and for the Raps as Ford doesn't have to always be the one taking that last shot at the end of games.
