Re: Kings @ Raptors, Jan. 17th
i can't remember the last time we put the pedal to the metal like this. it's not that we were playing poorly for the first three, it's just that when push came to shove down the stretch, we weren't intimidated by our own expectations of ourselves- we went out and achieved what we both expected to achieve and wanted to achieve (win).
i really like the makeup of the team. it's getting much better from week to week imo. aside from fred's absence on the lineup card, there isn't much that i would change. we don't seem to have any slackers, prima donnas or other types of distractions. i love the leadership that rasho is bringing around the interior, for instance, and our perimeter defense has really picked it up- as well it should, considering we have three players with high defensive skills/potential around the outside.
speaking of which, i love how mop is reverting to form. slowly but surely. i think the best is yet to come with him. i mean, what happened to his consistent 'circus shots' and charges drawn? it's like it's another player out there this season. just wait till he regains the mo pete traits of old, too, and uses them to supplement what he's doing today. he'll be a fantastic piece for this team. but it's a little too easy to sing his praises after last night so i'll stop.
peace

Totally! There have been soooooooo many Raptors games in the past few years, where we played just like the Kings did in this game. Hanging around, playing OK, right there going the fourth, then the other team just cranks up the intensity and blows them out. It usually happens against better teams, of which we are slowly becoming.

Yup, that was a great win. The boys are playing well on both sides of the court (I think we held them about 15 points below their average).
Rollin, rollin, rollin.

Re: Kings @ Raptors, Jan. 17th
I didn't get to watch the game, can somebody recap what happened in the 4th? We were down by how many? Who played in crunch time? Jose, Mo, Gnani, Bosh, Garbo?

Oddly, they never mentioned that...

The raptors were up one point at the start of the forth quarter. Calderon, Graham, Garbo, Bosh and Peterson were playing. Basically they were moving around, passing the ball well, making their shots, made stops. Crowd was in to it, so the raps were in to it. they took advantage and never looked back.
