Former Raptor Traded
Former Toronto Raptor Eric Williams who was traded to San Antonio during the off-season has been traded to the Charlotte Bobcats for Melvin Ely. The Spurs also added a 2nd round draft pick in the deal.

Re: Former Raptor Traded
I don't quite understand this trade. Expiring contracts? Veteran leadership? Which one is it?

The Spurs thought they were "soft" so they brought in a tough guy in Ely.

Re: Former Raptor Traded
I'm talking about the Bobcats. Eric Williams hasn't been playing much since he came to Toronto.

Ely is not playing for them... Eric is just a contract match.. its Ely for a second rounder.

Re: Former Raptor Traded
I really had high hopes for Eric when Toronto nabbed him. I thought both of the Williams' would be helpful players, and I think they may have been under different circumstances, but what flops they turned out to be. Especially Eric, who not only played poorly when given the opportunity, but complained incessantly while in Toronto. He's dead to me now (lol).
Good thing we were able to get further value out of both of them (2nd for Aaron, half of Rasho for Eric).

Re: Former Raptor Traded
Interesting trade. Looks like Williams's contract has benefited 2 (or 3, if you count NJ) teams so far.
