Re: Chad Ford: "I think the guy they covet in Toronto is Darko"
i would not trade calderon.. i would wait untill after his contract is up to renew it. Ford and Calderon are playing very effectively.. why disrupt that? there are plenty of mins for them to share.

No way!
Arroyo is not a good play maker, he has low fg%'s and would be a big step back from Jose. Darko is interesting, but we loose our depth at the wing to gain depth at the 5 spot. We don't realy need more depth there this year.
Maybe a Fred Jones, Humphries, Graham for Darko and Keith Bogans?

Re: Chad Ford: "I think the guy they covet in Toronto is Darko"
Darko is absolute terrible fit for the Raptors. A frontcourt of Bosh, Bargnani and Darko would be the worst defensive frontcourt in the history of basketball (ok maybe one of the worst - I didn't actually look it up).
First of all, not one of them can guard a 3. Secondly, not one of them can guard a 5 (Bargnani may get there one day). Luckily, there aren't many 5s that can score in the NBA right now so maybe you could get away with this shortcoming some nights. Finally, they're all soft and not particularly good at protecting the rim or help defense.
On offense, Darko and Bosh would get in each other's way (two lefthanded players that like operating 12-16 feet from the basket).
Finally, within 2-3 years, all 3 will want a big contract (Bosh has it already but will need to be extended in 2-3 years). I'm not a capologist but I'm pretty sure it's a bad idea to tie up all that $$ in those 3 players.

Get the Blazers in involved and would you do:
Going out:
MoP, Fred Jones, Humphris
Coming in:
Darko, Juan Dixon.

i dont want darko. if andrea progresses as quickly as bosh did....then thats a powerhouse frontcourt right there. all we need after that is solid backup like rasho, or another banger/rebounder type guy. there is no way i would breakup tj/jose for darko but your suggestion looks more appetizing.

well Pryz has looked preatt bad after the deal he got, so has Nazr, what about trying to work something for Magolire? he has that C size and would be a upgrade over Rasho.

Re: Chad Ford: "I think the guy they covet in Toronto is Darko"
Bargnani is better than Milicic. And I think it'll be that way for long, long time. No way the Raptors are after Milicic.
Another note, I noticed that ESPN Insider figures Toronto wants Juan Dixon and will trade Fred Jones for him. That's not a bad trade, in my opinion.

Re: Chad Ford: "I think the guy they covet in Toronto is Darko"
Fred for Dixon is a win-win for both Toronto and Portland.
About Darko, there is no need to pay so much for the Bargnani future backup!
And about a good SF, in this offseason I would love to see Raps taking a run for Nocioni...

I disagree. I don't think Magloire would be an upgrade over rasho. And he would be way more of a malcontent if he didn't get the minutes he obviously thinks he deserves. I would like to see Bryan stand pat and see what this team can do the second half of the season.

That would be a great addition, bring some much needed rebounding.

Re: Chad Ford: "I think the guy they covet in Toronto is Darko"
Honestly, I don't like Darko.
On the other hand, Calderon is gold right now for Toronto.
I would LOVE to keep Calderon here. Not only does he have all the skills as a PG, but he has all that youthful energy to change the momentum of games.
Peace
